warp&dock: one more failed mechanic and how to deal

this is post for newbees who (like me Lol ) gets caught when does warp&dock procedure. Pro and "PVP-gods" can ignore it (or troll)

Problem: when you warp to station your ship stops near to warp-in point. This is usually "almost dock range" but not always. Now when you get out of warp you ship stoped 1-2 kilometers off the station. And now ship gets speed to reach station. If there is camper on SBed arty ship he can lock and one-shot many untanked ships while that ship can't do anything.

Solution: it is always better to warp to undock point. First time you docked to low- or 0.0sec station undock and make bookmark. And use it to warp&dock. You always get into docking range and can dock before anyone locks you.

PS: well. Not exactly always: there is stations with very small undock area. Keep it in mind.

Hope this post will help to some newbs to evade stupid "pro-pvpers" in SBed arty ships camping low-sec stations.

so instead of being a nice way to be able to warp and dock its a nice way to still get killed the same way if you did it manually?

IS THERE NO PLACE SAFE?!

zut alors!

Not a bad idea, but I'm far too lazy these days with warp-to-zero to bookmark an "insta" like that. Smile

When I pick the station, I choose dock. I'm always closer than when I "warp to 0".

how about just creating a safe 200km off the station, I mean if its a problem you run into regularly it is easy enough to see whos on grid before you warp in to dock and at 200km very little, if anything will be hitting you at that range. SIMPLES

This is working as intended ... people have to think for themselves a bit
and figure out how to instadock. Which is quite easy to figure out,
but left as an exercise for the player.

It's as simple as that. The smart ones have advantages ... and they should.

Oh and to add something:

The "to help the noobs"-argument is the dumbest argument ever,
because nobody knows if "the noobs" don't actually join because they like
to experience the game exactly as it is advertised.

We don't know ... i don't know ... but i don't claim to know, unlike you and many others.

I would make one a bit farther away, 1 even off grid.

hm... what if i ALREADY know that there is camper there? Do not dock? Lol

Problem is not that you don't know who's there. Problem is strange mechanic when you can't be sure you warped to 0 or not "to 0" Lol

It happens to me 20-30% of times i used "warp&dock" feature. And ship doesn't matter here. Once it happened to Nemesis... Once - to mammoth.... What?

if they prepared for you being prepared, then +1 for being a step ahead.

Pirates are usually simple people, but the clever ones we stay a step ahead, every step.

If you die after taking precautions, unfortunately the pirate is smarter than you and WILL kill you.

d-scan with short range (to cover the station) and thin angle (15%) will say enough about undock you are looking to.
