still getting these. Just got another one. CSE on one client, yet other client is fine. WTF is that ****??? No problems with any other games, Come on CCP lets hear that you are working on it, or something...

Same problem.

Living in germany, ISP is O2/Alice - these problems nearly never occured before Inferno, now they happen frequently. When it happens, there ist a good chance, that i can't play for hours, after the downtime everythings fine.

Also getting two popup windows, no steam installed, cache cleared .....

Just to inform

I had this message error, and I can play today, I've format my computer, maybe a file corrupt ?
I don't have this problem since 2 days, I'm playing without socket error, and my connection is poor but no lag.

Good luck guys, hope you will find a solution quickly.

i had the same problem until a few time ago when i changed my internet provider, didnt had any more problems after that . . until today after i patched the new update and i cant even be a couple of hours online with "socket close" message!

if anyone already found a fix for that plz let me know, if its CCP problem, this should be in your main list (top of the list) of things to fix.

I've been experiencing this yet again. I ran ping plotter (I'm in the central US), I also had a friend who lives locally run it also. I may have found an issue.

He is being directed through London and experiencing very little packet loss.
I am being directed through Sweeden (telia.net) and experiencing 96+ % packet loss as soon as I start bouncing through there all the way to CCP. The problem really starts to arise at the last stop before CCP.

1% going into 213.248.78.237 (telia)
6% at 213.155.130.208 (telia)
20% at 213.155.130.6 (telia)
83% at 213.155.133.5 (telia)
97% when it finally hits CCP at 213.248.83.198

Getting this issue constantly. Used to be just when sat in station but now i'm getting it in space too. Client will hang for a while. Still doing things (i.e locking an npc) but not actually completing the task. After about 2-3 mins the socket closed window pops up. Not sure what any of the traceroute stuff means but heres the info. I'm using a Macbook running Lion and with Virgin Media in the UK. Hope this info can help towards a fix as this problem is seriously ruining the game at the moment.

getting the same error on a daily basis. its not that bad like others report it but nontheless a disturbance that needs to be addressed and fixed.

I am experiencint the same problem, just sitting in a pos and i get a 2 windows with socket closed errors. This is happening very often today, several times an hour. i am also experienceing a message that says unable to connect with server check you internet connection, and there is a button "start eve" clicking it works. My internet connection is fine, speed tests 15mb and 23 ping, no problems with any other sites but your fourms are also very slow loading.

Dealt with this issue for the last week. Finally got to talk with support. He very politely(sarcasm) told me it was an ISP issue and that if it was a CCP issue there "would not be 42k+ players online". CCP support isn't even worth my time... After spending roughly 3 hours on the phone with my ISP over the last 3 days, they were unable to determine an issue on their end. I'm getting a new modem tomorrow, so we'll see if that somehow fixes the issue (it won't). All we can do is continue to push and push and see if these guys decide to actually address this issue that has been going on for quite a long time. My playtime is up next month, so they have about 2 weeks to fix the problem or I'll be going back to Blizzard because their tech support is about 1% better
