We've all had a time or two scanning jita local looking for a friend/enemy. I believe if there was a chat filter, it may deal with lag / frustration. It could be like the active overview on the directional scan and could be based on standings etc. and would be optional.
Can u imagine just seeing ur contacts rather than 1000+ people in jita...if u wanted that option?
You could see them in space but they wouldn't be filling up local. Just a thought

Not a bad idea. A little checkbox somewhere in the chat settings to not show any contacts that I don't have standings set for. Should be placed somewhere convenient so you can quickly switch it on/off.

If you're gonna post here thinking your idea is the greatest thing since bacon and that it will save EVE and possibly all humankind with it, you're gonna have a bad time.

No more scammers clogging local...just your friends and hated enemies and the grey people you have feelings for. We could completely rid ourselves of the spammer scammers

I think many would appreciate it and it would have to help with lag...no?
