Aggression timer questions

Two questions:

1. I aggress someone, let's say I activate a scrambler on him. He logs off without aggressing me, but after I have aggressed him. Does he have an aggression timer? Will he disappear after 1 minute or 15? (or after the next patch: never)

2. We fight against a fleet and one of them is in a carrier, repping his fleetmates but not using any offensive modules or fighters against us. We have him scambled. The fight goes bad for them and he logs off, never having aggressed us. Does he have an aggression timer? 1 minute or 15 until he disappears?

Yes he have agression timer 15min.
Only thing he can do if he not agress back is to dock on a station without delay

Thanks :) I guess I let the docking mechanics confuse me.

Thats odd I always thought it was if he attacks you he gets an aggression timer.
Thats how if you stop attacking someone and they keep attacking you can tank them and jump through a gate and they have a wait a bit or something like that.

Also I thought when you are RR someone who is attacking another person, you get aggression as well.

Well.... If you dont agress back , you can jump tru a gate withot delay ofc.
A carrier cant use gates tho Blink
And.. yes. If you rep someone attacked by someone else , attacker can agress you allso

As I know now (I believe), there are different aggression timers. Aggressing someone else (or not) affects whether you can jump through gates or dock at stations. The timer that affects whether you disappear quickly after logoff is something else.

You get aggression-flagged. That means he may attack you, even if it's hisec or lowsec and you're not at war. I don't think there is any timer involved until you actually attack him.

Yeah okay, the solid red instead of flashy.

I know there are plenty of people around who know about how all the aggression timers work. Even read about extending them by shooting wrecks.. But thats more of a ninja trying to kill a mission runner type of thing.

Correct. The latter has nothing to do with aggression at all.

On the contrary, that is exactly the 15 minutes timer that's generally meant when talking about aggression timers.

Of course with the changes coming you won't have to worry about logoffskis any more. Just keep them aggressed and the ship stays until you kill it. Can't wait Twisted
