That is a ballsy thing to write.

Hopefully you don't get yourself into any hot water over this public disagreement with your bosses.

I'm impressed with your words and the demo you showed at a Russian player-meet. Exciting stuff.

Just let it go. There will not be any new avatar gameplay added for a long time so if the FIS content isn't good enough to keep you entertained, take a break from eve and stop giving CCP your money. That's the only way you can really send a message.

...I know, people like to say stuff like that, but when has that actually worked the last couple of years? Since games are big business, declining customers result in declining service... just saying.

Last summer.

Unless you're one of those people who believed that CCP were swayed by shooting a statue, and not by the tens of thousands of unsubscriptions.

Anyone seen the latest subscription curve for EVE?

I think you need to be part of CCPs management to see a subscription curve. All we get is the number of accounts logged in, which has been relatively flat.

PLEX for WiS? I like the idea. But I tried to guess what it would take. 10 Devs for 6 months might be a minimum to push out something, and that would be about 50,000 PLEX, which is 3 to 4 weeks of volume at Jita.

Oh, and given the free giveaway Aurum and Aurum tokens, it would most likely have to be PLEX. Its the only thing in game directly tied to real money.

Edit: If we want to find if we can do this, I suggest Petitions.

Houm, I would guess that CCP's actual burn rate is lower than that, but anyway your guesstimate puts a figure to theory. And that means that funding WiS on a kickstarter initiative would be difficult within the smallish EVE community.

Otherwise, thinking outside of the box, it would be "easier" to bypass CCP and EVE altogether and raise 10 to 20 million to fund a brand new MMO that integrated human and starship gameplay from start...

And likely would be faster than wait for CCP to put itself together about WiS. Lol

The key issue in all things related to WiS is to define what this mythical something would be that would both add something useful and interesting while being able to interact with the rest of the game.

Ones the game designers comes up with something that fits the bill then the issue of having it implented will be relativly easy.

As a reference:
A farmer had his tractor fixed by the local smith but was angy at the bill which read:
"Replacing broken bolt: 50 coins"
The farmer asked for a more specific bill and the smith sent a new one:
"New bolt to replace a broken one: 1 coin, knowing which bolt to replace 49 coins".

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

A situation we may be in. They got Dust players walking in station, in public areas. But that's in the Dust code. Getting that in the Eve code.... well we got no idea if that would be hard or easy.

But if its going to happen with the dust public roll-out (which I think they want to do for this winter's expansion) then we might see hints on Sisi soon, say in a month.

If Dust has social areas ,then vanishing the blog is not an CCP decision ,but an all exclusive
Sony decision

@ Devs

I seriously want to communicate that I love this idea. Is it also possible to consider crafting additions for Eve Online where "we" the players can craft

1-all clothes- intertwine it with resources from the existing game and sell the items on the playe r market.
2- architecture such as offices and cantina's that require blue prints and mechanical accessories-
3- craft all furniture items

Finish the 2012 spacerevamp, finish PI with Dust, CCP stop being weary about avatars, it was your RMT store that killed subs, not avatars. I guess I am heavily influenced by the sand box concepts of crafting. I feel a very robust crafting system for the avatar could bring in more subscriptions.

Also- where is Sec Wars????

Sony is just the host for DUST 514; they have no say over internal CCP decisions (and they'd get in big trouble for trying to push their weight like that).

The vanished blog is CCPs choice. I don't know their reasoning, but it's certainly made us speculate, huh? ;)

I like to speculate until somebody will prove me wrong

Dust beta is in high gear and suddenly some people are silenced by Unifex
Dust seems to have social areas ,the sort of gameplay supposed to be in EvE along time ago.
Sony wants Dust as exclusive as possible.
So walking in any kind of manner is now PS3 exclusive

I feel that it's safely outside of NDA at this point to bring this up, with Dust beta being open to all eve players.

But has anyone noticed that there seems to be a strong focus on station environments in Dust?

The "waiting room" that loads after the MQ from the fanfest videos is effectively what most players expected from Incarna.

I'm failing to understand why Dust Bunnies will have WIS (or at least something similar), but we won't.

Recycled materials, stations we already partially built, free work for dust developers. More resources taken from Eve.

I usally write one of these and then change it a month later when I reread it and decide it sounds stupid.
