Incarna/WiS Disappointment

I don't really think CCP needes more money to do WiS properly but a fundraiser would certainly make a point in how much the community wants it.

True, in terms of where we are it is just after the big summer exodus in the office and internally we're marshaling together the plan for the next few months in terms of what we will put together and release. Sleeve tattoos are definitely on the list for consideration with a big star and lots of arrows pointing at it. When we know precisely we'll let you guys know.

This is a key point - showing how much the community wants it - though if you ask me I think this has been amply proven through Pro-Incarna mega threads like this one.

Also the reason I suggested Aurum tokens (and I'll add plex to my original suggestion) rather than cash is that since you can buy Aurum tokens (and PLEX) off the market ingame, it would allow players who are cash poor but ISK rich to also show their desire for Incarna.

Any thoughts CCP Bayesian?

Sometimes, working the forums is not enough.

Remeber "Retake Mass Effect"? Well, I was part of it, and setting up these "child's play" donations really turned a few heads.^^

How do you think that would work if we did something similar in EVE?

Dunno, really... with "retake", we had most of the, very vocal community on our side, so BioWare finally cracked and gave us "the Extended Cut"... sure, I'm not as cocky as to claim they ONLY did it for/bacause of "us"... but it gave the whole matter media attention...

I'd say, it depends on how determined the EVE community is to pull something like that off...

Coming apart at the seems, perhaps?

Anyway, a Cash/PLEX donation drive would seem settle the issue.

Though CCP might not be willing to affect the PLEX market in that way, so they might want to stick to straight cash.

Pipa is being a bit cheeky, in that she fails to mention that part of the reason for the rage was that we didn't get the Incarna we had be promised for the last 6 years.

Pro-Incarna players were pissed off and were part of those riots as well.

A large chunk of the lost Subs have returned. Not much Incarna material's been released. Lots of FIS (relative to the 18mo prior) has been released.

I do believe, in the united states at any rate (not sure about iceland), that for-profit corporations can't exactly accept donations legally. It would have to be disguised as paying for some service/product (even if it's just a token one.)

And please, please, pretty please, leave the goddamn cash shop out of it. That's the last thing EVE needs more of.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

Agreed... that should be taken out of the game... not the shop (well maybe that too) but if anything along a petition fundraiser should happen.

As I stated, it's about media attention... so I would choose something cheritable instead... aside the other reasons why that is a good thing in general.

ofcourse donating to something to a good cause is always good ,but changing corporate decisions with it, even the senseless decisions like Unifex made about WIS?
