So are spaceship pilots.

And Eve is not a spaceship game. It is a Sci Fi simulation game. How many Sci Fi movies or series have you seen where there was no scenes of people walking and interacting?

Sorry for the radio silence for the past couple of weeks, I've been variously ill, spraining ankles and on holiday.

I've got bad news about the devblog we promised. It's been swallowed by the black hole of corporateness and won't be seeing the light of day for the foreseeable future. The team have been as vocal as we can about the merits of putting it out but to no avail. We're continuing to try and work out a way of showing you work we're proud of and think you will like but for now our hands are completely tied. Sad

I would LOVE to be able to board NPC ships, and if all fail then we can always fire the artillery.

They are doing that. And there is 20 minutes of rendered footage created for a finished dev blog that is being withheld from us.

Bummer about the Dev blog being swallowed up.

I'm really tired of this ******* game of wait and see.

The great thing about that Dev blog is that it would have given us something to look forward to again, something to spark the imagination.

that doesn,t give us a reason ,for silencing Team Avatar
Team Avatar exist in some way ,everybody knows that
They seem to have made some sort of progress in their effort to prototyping something
It does not hurt anybody ,to put this blog on the forums.

I am very curious for the reason for silencing one of your teams.

It must be very frustrating to be on team Avatar now.
Any other team can put on blogs like they want, they can show off their work and discuss those blogs with the community, sniping the pages the moment they come on.
Not Team Avatar ,they can,t show of some hard work

So ,there is no blog for some idiotic reason or TA has nothing to show for

Sadly I suspect we will get an announcement very soon that Team Avatar
is being disbanded. If WiS isn't coming for a couple more years, I don't see
what it is they could possibly be doing during that time., Heck, with todays
off the shelf technology, I bet a team of five could release an entire MMO in
2-3 years.

Team Avatar was a smoke screen.

The complaining, bitter personal sniping, and inflated senses of entitlement demonstrated in this thread goes a long way towards explaining why CCP aren't willing to put out any more information about WiS. If you were a member of Team Avatar reading the comments, would you be telling yourself what a great bunch of guys these WiS enthusiasts were, and how you'd better give everything you have and go the extra mile to keep them in the loop? Or would you prefer to get on with your work, thinking ''why bother'' with a forum update or devblog because all you'll get in return is sullen whines and accusations of dishonesty and ulterior motives?

Right now they are working with basic concepts for game play.

They came up with a reasonable concept and a prototype to test.

The key word being prototype.

They may very well have found that their were some flaw's in the basic concept that require a change... or they may very well have found a way to may the game play even more unique to the EVE universe and don't want to make that information public just yet.

We knew going in this was going to take a while to get right, don't get impatient (and silly) about it now.

There's little point releasing a dev blog about something that isn't going to be even close to a playable release in the next 12 months, and CCP has a poor record when they've done similar 'long term forecasting' in the past. And going by this thread, all they'd get in response is posts about "management pricks" and "ccp lying to us" and "lets shoot statues and unsubscribe in protest".

They could implement multiplayer CQs. Not the whole nine yards of WiS with hawezome gameplay and shiny, just make baby steps to keep us content after they pissed on our face with Incarna. Also to keep spending money on WiS so it becomes more and more difficult to justify abandoning it.

Because as we are now, they could plain remove the CQ from the client (they already stopped updating it), say "that was all folks" and call it a day until there is a new chance to implement WiS once DUST makes big bucks and WoD is at full production speed and can share some resources with granny EVE.

Because, you know, we the WiSers are "expendable" customers. Or so they think, and hang me if I know how to prove them wrong. Straight
