Fix no risk orca pvp

I don't care if there are a million threads up there about this it is not getting fixed fast enough.

I have nothing against gate camps/Instalock badness and so forth. I do however hate the fact that we cannot kill a lot of the guys doing them since they sit on a HS gate with orcas. If anything big enough to kill them comes through they dock their pvp ships in the orcas and jump into HS thus evading getting ganked after aggressing.

Just make it so that you have an agression timer on orca docking like everything else. Or even just make orcas carrying flashy stuff become flashy themselves. Or something.

I honestly don't care what is done, just pisses me off to have people hanging around that virtually can't be ganked due to some silly exploit..

from what I've seen, make it share the GCC with the orca if a criminal docks their ship in your ship maintenance bay. I was thinking that you could just not be able to dock the ship, but that might mess up other uses for the ship maintenance bays.

I too enjoy the safety that comes with being able to shoot anyone at any time for any reason. (not sarcasm)

@op, get some tornadoes on the highsec side. They cry like babies when you bust up their orca.

Just get over it, sorry to be so blunt. But I went though this all the time when I was in high sec, you know what I did? I found a new medium : went to null sec nearly a year back and never looked back.

Did i get something wrong here?

As far as i know you cannot dock into an Orca, you can just leave the ship and then the orca pilot has to scoop it to the maintenance bay.

And it only works with Mining Barges or Exhumers, and not with pvp ships.

Right?

EDIT: Tried it and it with my orca and it works. Please ignore my post.

I think this may be addressed by the new aggression mechanics coming out in the winter.

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

Its causing me absolutely NO grief, i've lost one t1 ship to such a camp and that was because i was lazy enough to go through there even though i knew there was a 80% chance of getting ganked.

Its the not being able to kill them part that bothers me.

Agreed, I've never lost a ship to such a camp but it irritates me because they are effectively invulnerable to attack while attacking others freely. Yes you can suicide gank the orca on the high sec side, trouble is it takes about 20 tornado's to pull that off and you don't get insurance off them. Think about that for a minute. It's going to cost you around 1.5B isk to kill a 400M isk ship. As if that weren't bad enough, it takes 20+ guys to take out a gate camp that's potentially just 2 characters. It's unbalanced and no amount of denial is going to change that obvious fact.

The solution is pretty simple: make it so if a ship is warp disrupted, it cannot be placed inside a ship maintenance bay. Problem solved.

I'd like to make a little market profit, where do you get your Orcas for 400m isk?

Thanks!

I would take it one step further. Even being within the refitting or docking range of a fleeted orca would get the same agression timers as actively repairing the agressor.

Universal solution to orca PvP problems.....

Bump the orca off the gate with a BS with MWD (typhoon or something else thats cheap)

Or you wana tell me you are fighting 4V4 and you cant find one more guy to help you out Bear

My ego is the the size of my carriers jump range.

No one is stupid enough to leave the orca sitting still long enough for a BATTLESHIP to ram it.

This is such a niche problem that I think the fix would cause far more problems than it corrects. You're talking about a kind of gimmick that can only occur at a few dozen gates, and then isn't particularly dangerous. Just mock them and move on.

Did someone say 100mn stabber? You can push that orca tens of km off the gate with that thing.

Bumping, regardless of ship type, is generally ineffective. They have to be afk or otherwise distracted for it to work. Really it just needs the minor adjustment I mentioned previously. It's a simple fix to a simple problem and I doubt it would have any unintended side effects.
