"To think that... fool Sansha has managed to penetrate the defenses of our worlds and strike with such impunity. Why can we not do the same to our enemies?" - Queen Jamyl

Why not indeed? I'd really like to see more incursions of different types. In various missions we've found NPC controlled stargates throughout high security space that are built and protected by the enemies of the empire you're missioning for. These secret gate networks could be a viable means of attack for the other empires into their opponent's homelands further expanding and iterating on Faction Warfare as a result.

It'd even be possible for the empires to obtain the codes for the local cynosaural field jammers and bypass them with their own capital fleet. Sansha is unique with his use of wormholes but the other empires of eve should be able to use spies and their secret gate network to wreak havoc upon each other.

At least the war would actually seem like an actual war when we're fighting the enemy fleet in an incursion. Anyone remember the Quantum Rise trailer? I really wished Faction Warfare was like that, on that scale and... it isn't.

Well I got a like out of it, may as well explain some ideas for iterating it in EVE... Honestly while my original post was about Faction Warfare based incursions, the same hold true for the other pirate factions as well... I mean the Blood Raiders have to go off and kill somebody to get the blood for their rituals for example.

But I'll focus on Faction Warfare for this.

A Faction Warfare Incursion follows most of the same effects as the standard Sansha Incursions. A fleet of combat ships invade a constellation to accomplish whatever mission they're on and so forth...

1. Faction Navies do not respond in Faction Incursion Systems they're busy fighting the invasion so they won't bother chasing hostile militia pilots down. Since the militia system makes it so NPCs may not fire on friendly PCs... this allows the Hostile Militia to support the Incursion if they so desire. As members of the attacking state this will also allow them to engage neutral third parties that attack the incursion forces. More PvP = Good.

2. The destruction of hostile Faction Navy ships awards LP for the Militia (If you're in one) and the navy of the defending state. More LP for FW is good. Especially if we get the whole LP and tier system fixed!

3. Hostile Incursion Headquarters may include the heaviest of Supercapital ships available to the enemy fleet. Titans, Motherships, Dreadnoughts, Carriers... All good fun.

4. Factional Blueprints for Navy issue capital ships? Maybe worth considering.
