I am currently playing free, using a friend signup, and I play on becoming a paying player in the next few hours. I noticed that CCP has a sale right now on plex.

When I buy the plex, then redeem one (I am guessing that is what I do), is that when my buddy get's his reward?

Hmmm... well, I just logged onto account management and I cannot buy plex while I am on a trial account.. so there ya go...

Don't buy plex to pay for your own subscription, it will only end up costing you more in the end. (as plex are more expensive than paying directly by cc).

But to answer you question, no, when you redeem a plex you just get them into your hangar, before your friend actually recieves the plex you will have to consume the plex from your inventory.
