Tell me what you think of this idea.


So, there'd be a combat utility drone that is based off the sentry. These drones, that don't move would attack missiles that are being shot at the owner (or perhaps just all incoming enemy missiles).

The prereq skill would require sentry drone interfacing and defender drone operation.

Ships, like the domi, who get a bonus to drone dmg would increase the dmg that these drones do to incoming missiles. I think, they shouldn't move, which is why sentries, as it'd be really difficult to teach a warrior drone to attack missiles and missiles that have really good speed would be impossible for a warrior to get to before they hit. Also, there isn't a utility version of a sentry yet.

However, if ccp can get 1 missile to hit another missile, and then calculate a reduced dmg based on the exchange in dmg, then why can't they do that with drones?

Rumor has it that defender missiles are going to be scrapped and tracking disruptors will fill in their purpose.

Plus, I see no need for this at the moment. It fills only a very specific niche and I'm pretty certain people will continue to choose damage or Ewar drones due to their more universal usefulness.

Couple things.

1. So you want a class of drones that are utterly useless in any situation in which you're not fighting missile boats? Such as anything using projectiles?

2. That said, this idea smacks of trying to eliminate Caldari ships from casual PvP.

3. Ugh.. too niche, not needed, etc. Fit smartbombs instead.
