High sec copy slots

There is major shortage for high sec space copy slots and ME research slots.

In outposts you can offer copy slots but they can only exist in zero space. Could it be possible to allow POS structures to offer publicly available copy slots? System would need to be made scam proof so people cant just steal valuable blueprint originals that are being copied/ME researched.

Not that I would mind the money-making opportunity but…

…that's the price you pay for staying in an NPC corp. Want more slots? Get a corp and create some.

Noobs can't afford POS. It's the biggest disincentive to industry.

even if newbs could afford to buy a pos,
Just paying for it to keep it running on there own would break them and make them hate the game.

pos managment and fueling, is a time killing task.

for r&d pos you really need a corporation or more than 3 char's making the most of the labs.

Lastly bpc prices for most items are pretty much rock bottom.
and manu wise most bpo's make 1 mill or so for each ship you might build and sell.
(bs's)

to run a pos you need to crunch a whole lot of numbers to work out if its even worth while

Costs per month at the moment (assuming you don't try to use a Gallente tower...).

Small tower = 115M/mo
Medium tower = 185M/mo
Large tower = 325M/mo

A small tower should only run you about 250-350M ISK to setup. If you can afford a T1 battleship for mission running or a T2 exhumer, then you can afford to setup a small tower. Medium tower setups (with labs) are in the 500-600M range and large tower setups are 900-1200M ISK.

Run (5) hi-sec PI planets in the same system and you can make 90M ISK/mo to help pay for that tower fuel. Have your buddies do the same and it's not hard to pay for POS fuel each month, even if you never mine ice. Maybe get into P2/P3 factory worlds and make a bit more per month.

Maybe you have to pay someone 100-200M ISK for the standings needed to anchor the tower in hi-sec. Standings are probably the biggest constraint that young players run into. The ISK is not hard to get any longer with the advent of Incursions, w-space, and PI.

Noobs aren't supposed to be able to afford a POS, its something you get by sticking with the game and working for it.

The lack of station research slots in general is deliberate, and its there for a specific reason. This is a massively multiplayer game. You aren't supposed to be able to make it big alone. Big industry makes its profit margins on the back of research slots, and big industry isn't supposed to be done on a per person basis. You want to do mass BP copying or mass BP improvements, find a group of likeminded individuals and work for it.

There are also people who are in corporations that already have POS's for researcing clogging up the station as well espeically those that rent them out. 120 days on a slot is getting a bit rediculous these days.
