Was recently scammed out of roughly 500mil ISK worth of ships and random equipment by an allegedly noob-friendly nullsec corp. Not going to complain about that - my fault for not paying attention - but it did get me to thinking...are there any legitimately noob-friendly nullsec corps out there?

Hey guys kinda wondering the same thing just finished all the training I need for my Hurricane fit and I kinda want to get some pvp action. Was thinking of going the pirate route but would much rather prefer being with a corp, less risky and you can get backup lol.

While I'm on the topic, I've never heard a valid reason why a corp needs API - can someone please explain this?

They need your API to see if you have any other characters on the account aswell as some other stuff to make sure you're who you say you are.

Giving your API only let's them view stuff, they can't do anything to your character.

There are plenty of noob friendly corps around, but it's eve so there will be ppl/corps trying to scam you out of your isk/assets.
Trust is something that needs to be earned (that goes both ways)

Today I learned that you can't trust any players. At least this thread provided that much. :P

Yep, welcome to eve.

An api key means few things to different recruiters.

I personally used the api key check out the following

-are you a corp thief?
-are you who you say you are without any active links to the enemy?
-are you currently being paid by an unknown benefactor?
-will you be active enough and often enough to be an asset not a liability?
-is your personality compatible with ours?

General stuff like that. Just make sure you dont join a sinking ship like nulli.
