Mining Ships: There are very overlooked functions in the lineup

It may have been mentioned before, there are no ships or ship bonuses that address gas mining bonuses. I would very much like to see this addressed.

Scenario # 1: The ore frigate, you could make the gas mining t2 specific give it the usual ROF/Effectiveness bonuses and CPU reduction that apply to gas miners, give the damned thing cargo decent space/ore hold because certain gases use a lot of space quickly.
Jet-can mining is NEVER a good idea, various situations where this gas occurs makes big expensive slow-aligning/slow warping Orca or Rorqual undesirable to have on grid .
The t2 frigate would fit 4 gas harvesters (5 might be too OP).
Give it a tank like the jaguar has.
If the frigate idea doesnt seem very do-able, make it a destroyer class ship that fits 6-7 gas miners with bonuses etc.


Scenario #2 Add gas mining bonuses to the exhumers, add exhumer specific variant of gas harvester with its own set of mining upgrade modules. (I still want some kind of mining upgrade module for gas mining either way)


Two other things:
About those ship permissions you gave us not so long ago (Orca/Rorqual/Carrier), allowing specific config's of the different parts of the ship so people not in the corp or alliance could use them.. Give them back please! :)
Allow more than just rhoids in the ore hold of the orca and rorqual. If it can be mined, it should be able to be stored in the ore hold.

Thanks for giving mining another look I hope to see more improvements.

Jet can with a hauler like a bestower. It's dirt-cheap and can easily keep pace with several gas miners.

I'd like for my alts/corpmates to be able to get into my neutral orca from time to time, so yeah...I'll support that as well.

I don't care enough about mining to think through the rest :)

One way around the gas taking up so much space is having a bonus to the frig (if made for gas) that compresses gas.

Perhaps a 90% compression (haven't mined gas in a while so don't know its general space take up).. So it can mine a lot of gas, then quickly run off.

To be honest JetCan mining is was an unintended mechanical use that just became the way things are. That in itself having become the norm for many people warrants a revisit in my mind that a means by which increasing the base cargo capacity or storage capabilities in some form through ship or role bonus would a very good iteration.
