Have you guys considered randomizing/procedurally generating the maps for certain environments? That would help keep the exploration fresh instead of it being like static mission layouts.

We have indeed, our ideas include making some of these structures big enough that it wouldn't really be possible to make them by hand. It's something we still need to investigate in detail though.

You could always ask the Dust team. Big smile

Seriously, though, this is awesome. I'm imagining some "roguelike" level scenarios here.

On that note, have you guys played around with the idea of multi-story areas? Stairs, elevators, etc.?

OMG I FIGURED IT OUT. they are making an eve themed sci-fi rouge like.

Except the part where we pilot the ships from our pods, without a crew.

Oh right, the lore changed slowly over the course of years. It was better the other way.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The pod could make it so you have need of very few to no crew on some ships. Larger ones always needed crew. The piloting and command of the ship was simplified by the pod. The rest wasn't.

On another note, this sounds like a seriously interesting dev blog and I look forward to reading it! Damn people and their vacations!

On a related note, have you seen the size of those stations? They contain multiple cubic kilometers of structure...

They are coming SuperSeriouslySoon TM (S.S.S TM being a time unit defined as the time it would take any standard hell to freeze and then thaw again).

Anwyay, I wonder how long would it take until someone cosplays in Fanfest... in my very limited knowledge, there wouldn't be nothing impossible to replicate in EVE's dressing, aside of the way the clothes wrap around the bottom of larger breasts.

(Well, then there are those "minima" heels too, which i can't completely figure how would work mechanically so the strap wouldn't break/open/hurt the wearer... I guess it's supposed that the V lock on the strap will open to a wider angle so the wearer slips the foot thrugh the strap, then it will close back to the narrower angle to lock the strap and fit it to the ankle... but then you're left with those solid V locks banging on the feet when walking...)

(Yes, speculating over weird irrelevant questions is one of my favorite passtimes)

Ok I love the idea of explorable procedurally generated stations/outposts so that there can be a wide variety of stations to be discovered, etc....

HOWEVER>....

Why don't you guys start small, before you go to that extent enable inviting people to CQ its a novelty, don't advertise it as a big feature but atleast the ability to see more than 1 person in a CQ would be interesting... Allow us to buy one of those nifty strategy game tables for our CQ, and place it wherever we want, and when people are invited over they can play it...

Something small and trivial but ground breaking... And on top of that you can have a "More people can't be invited as it would be a fire hazard" to limit # of people in your CQ...

I mean i love the exploration ideas, but honestly the biggest thing that i was looking forward to with the promise of WIS, was the station experience of going to a club thats owned by a corp mate, and playing some games with some buddies and making bets... Basically the EOH guys could actually really have an EOH area in a station somewhere in eve with a bunch of casino's and poker and other stuff...

Slot machines that the owners can set rates on etc.. things like that

This was just something that astonished me, seeing atleast some tangible forward momentum in the system is what is missing, yes protyping is wicked, but we need to see some tangible results commercially for WIS to not be a joke...

Procedurally generated exploration stations with the ability to fight and kill is where you need to get, but what about starting at the same stations where there is no fighting allowed yet, (that can come later) but that we can walk around, for the love of god...

WANT EVERYONE TO BE ESTATIC?

Add a f*cking window! I'm not joking here, or make the view screen able to switch to an outside view of the station, why should i have to undock and dock station game style to see if theres people outside the station?1?!??!? CCP has said you can render multiple 3d scenes, so why can't the tv have a station with the 3d scene is the status outside the station...

It's not much advantage really as station game redock is 100% safe... and hell if you want it to be less advantage than even that, show the area on screen but don't highlight blues/reds etc...but personally i wish it could be like that new tactical overlay that was shown at FanFest, but with the station at the center.

There was at least one girl at Fanfest this year who was wearing Women's 'Sterling' Dress Blouse and last year some of the Veto people were in costume (or maybe they always dress like that, what do I know). Then there is one guy that was always in costume and carrying duct tape (I don't remember seeing him this year at Fanfest).

The leather coat is a few years old and as far as I know there are no plans for it.
There are a few pretty nice Incarna coats and jackets here at the office, but the catsuit only exists inside our computers Lol

But yes, black markets are cool and have actually been discussed as one of the activities done inside avatar social spaces, making it necessary for capsuleers to meet face to face, off the grid so to speak.

We were promised with a response regarding the reparation of the devaluation of our Ishukone Special Edition Shirt & Women Executor (Red/Gold) a week ago.

Are you telling us now that we have to wait for another week? It's already been a week and in the meantime, hundreds of additional needless hatemongering threads and posts have been generated at each other regarding this issue. Honestly, the potential of "WiS" is so great that I still think CCP would be well advised to split it off into a whole new game project rather than try and cramp it into the narrow confines of a "new feature" of an existing game predicated on an entirely different engine.
