Timers Damaging Mission Running

To try to fend off some (YOU SOULD BE PVPING NOOB!) fire I'll state I would prefer PVP but due to time constraints and constant detraction threats it's hard to PVP (frankly it's hard to play a game without a pause for interruption button these days). PVE is an option that I can peruse at my own limited pace on my own limited time, or at least I would like to but I keep being punished for not doing them in the time frames deemed by someone somewhere.

I respect and understand the motivational mechanism to give bonus rewards for doing missions quickly. I do not understand the logic behind the mission expiration date as well as the request timer. I have the option to decline a mission, which is fine, but if I don't accept it fairly soon the agent will no longer speak to me and the mission is lost.

Many of the mission runners have the least amount of time to play, hence they run missions. I propose removing the mission expiration date timer, or (and of the 2 timers I think this one is more damaging) removing the mission accept timer. I'm open minded so if anyone knows what positives the 2 timers do for gameplay and what justifies them I'll gladly concede.

You have a week to finish a mission. And a few days to decline. That should be sufficient for just about anyone.

I'm wondering what the benefit for the system is, if there is no benefit then why have an additional punishment mechanism that gets put upon the largest part of the players base with the least amount of time to play.

I think the benefit is to cut down on missions the server has to track. Imagine all the missions that would be in a que of players that quit or just didn't get back around to them or cancel them.

I suppose that would create major lag issues so it does make sense to keep the timer on doing them, but I don't see the need for the timer that gives you only a couple days to get the mission once declining it, unless even declining it causes it to spawn, also adding to the server load.
