Why are there many spam threads?

Please don't lock this, I'm not criticizing the EVE forum moderation (sorry if mentioning that it exists if disallowed as well); I'm just wondering what kicked off all the spam/locked threads?

Because the ISDs locked good threads for no reason, so people started spamming in order to give them loads to do as a form of protest.

ISD locked some legitimate threads and rustled the forum's jimmies a bit.

or they could take their fingers off the lock button and yet people talk. As long as there is no abuse or blatant racism, the ISD should leave well alone.
