Energy is getting more and more expensive. So I am making most of my electricity by myself, and that's why I will need to drop this gaming rig too. It eats way too much. So mini-itx it is and small screen, total less than 50 watts at max load Big smile In my tiny machine I have under 2GHz CPU, 4 Gb ram, and SSD hardrive. Built in graphics. Using windows 7. It will be great for doing all work related stuff and perhaps for some turn based strategy games.

Also there is many other ppl who are using old PC's only because they can't afford to get new ones.

Could it be possible to get really low graphics mode to EVE? Just for flying in space and spinning ship in hangar? Pretty please? Straight

Elite Wire Frame

Some oldschool wire frame spaceship goodness!

keep the gaming rig and sell the wife n kids... you'll save more money

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

My computer has the energy usage of a small town. When I fire it up, the street lights in my neighborhood go out.

Totally wasted on EVE but nice for some of the other games I play.

I say kick it up a notch. Wow me with a serious graphical upgrade. Bring my rig to it's knees.

Don't waste programing on the whiny little people that think an iphone or net book is a gaming platform. Listen to me, and me alone.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

I've never heard of someone having to use a lower-end setup because of the light bill. WoW. I would think there are many other ways to cut back on the electiric bill. Dropping the thermostat a few degrees works. Lights off during the day and in rooms you dont use at night.

Doing laundry on certain days instead of through out the week. But wow..

What in the **** is happening here.. Ever since Hellmars post.. Things have gotten more and more odd..

I used to think my I7 rig ate electric until I took a look at the meter for 1 day and saw that it used about £1 a day...

PCs really do not use alot of power.

switch from lasers to auto cannons. safes lots of energy.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Yea, but OP is talking about concerving actual power on the bill by switching to a low-end setup.
