Market Manipulations?
Yes.

High-Level?
lol no

Elite?
No...

Just because you use a large number of people and resources to execute a manipulation of the market does not mean that what you are doing is any more high-level or elite than if a single person was somehow doing all the work themselves.
The basic concept was just that, basic.
The complexity of the concept is what determines the level or elitism of a manipulation, not the way you go about doing it or how much time/effort it takes.

but the jewbal is 5 people

5 high-level, elite people

Apparently you didn't read the original post from screenshot. All that ISK was earned through game mechanics. There is no reason for CCP to remove the ISK they earned as it took a lot of work to figure out and execute the operation to pull this off. You know that saying. It takes ISK to make ISK. So unless you already had a pile of ISK and several people at your disposal. You weren't going to be making it with this exploit.

We should be thanking the goons for exposing this. Leading to CCP fixing the issue.

I honestly wasn't that impressed with the amount of ISK from the screenshot. (Even though that's something I will never obtain in my lifetime) I was how ever impressed with how they manipulated the FW system and market prices. They have to be REALLY bored.

Goons have a purpose you know. They push the limits of the game and sometimes break it. Sometimes CCP will fix it.

Why do I have this sig? I don't smoke.

So I hear 5 people is "a large number of people and resources".

Suddenly goonswarm is sounding a bit defensive. Delicious. And somebody posts onto these threads every few minutes that it was just five players, just five ELITE players. That makes it all right, of course. And it's goons so that means it has to be badass, and not just plain stupid and wrong. On the one hand you have embattled, underpaid devs, who don't have the resources they need to keep this lovely community happy. On the other you have the Goons, who just want to push, and push, and push, and then bray about it online like jackasses. Very nice.

Forums are the real combat in Eve.

Well they have a large amount of resources, I don't doubt...

Should you rolback data base or not ?

You know i told people something like this was possible. And I was not listened too then. They said it would be to hard and complicated to pull off.

As far as i can tell Goons did nothing wrong. People pointed out that this was possible and CCP let it happen.

This is CCPs fault.

But im against Rollbacks since this was such an obvious outcome of the system they put in place. Which is one of the reasons i was so against what they wanted to do for FW.

You mean more like using expolit to manipulate market... Not manipulation it self or pure economy competition betwen players.

Btw im not here to fight vs goonswarm etc, this therad is about fact that enormus amount of dirty earned isk are part of (ex healthy eve market)

Ps.To gonswarm members. Dont take this post personaly i care about economy not about gonswarm alliance.

I actually see as the greatest ever Market PvP.

The jellies are thick with me, but at least I admit it.

My only comment on this is that I wouldn't mind if the goons shared some of their trillions with me. I would use it to buy a leet pvp toon in the Bazaar and join it to the Goons.

Cause I am seriously in awe of this emergent gameplay or whatever its called.

Considering this is just the five elite market people in goons, I think you might have a slightly incorrect view of what anyone else knew about the whole thing.

Dirty ISK?
As far as I can tell, the market manipulation scheme did not "produce" ISK, but rather created an easy way for the Goons to convert ISK to LPs and then to the items of their choice.
All the ISK the Goons made came from other players buying those items from the Goons.
As the market manipulation and the conversion from LP to Item actually costs ISK too it is probable that the entire scheme acted as an ISK sink for the economy, i.e. decreasing the total amount of ISK ingame.
It is just that the Goons are now richer because they found a cheap way to get items to sell.

TL;DR
No ISK was created.
ISK just moved from other player's wallet into the Goons pockets via the market.

Via a mechanic that should have not be used ....
