I see many Null bears dog piling the Op. the Op has a good point seeing that the war dec mechanics are changing in favor of the null bear GOONs and their meat shield.

So basicly this is what i see. and we will use an example out of history.
1> Hitler comes into power
2> Launches full scale war on his neighbors taking lots of land
3> many get angry taking up arms to defend
4> Hitler beats them back and smacks a another non involved party
5> rest of the world gets involved tossing in the kitchen sink

Still waiting to get a single "goon crying on the forum" link, but ok.

Some merc I know was calling the new wardec broken when they were announced, and he certainly isnt a goon.

Just so you're all aware, it takes a lot more than three days time to alter a game mechanic. If you think that CCP can take a batphone call from Mittens and just fix the game in three days you have no idea how they operate or what it takes to go from concept to implementation.

There were threads up about this issue weeks in advance of the change, and there was plenty of player feedback about the war declaration system long before the war between GSF and Jade Constantine ever broke out. The plans to make these rule changes were in place before the first shots were fired.

This conspiracy theory stuff is a waste of time, and a distraction from the real discussion about the mechanics themselves. As someone who was actually involved in the process, I can say without hesitation that all of these changes were discussed without a single specific corp or alliance mentioned. CCP just doesn't design features around a particular player group.

Every time someone freaks out and blames Goonswarm you give them exactly what they want but don't deserve - excessive attention. Mittens only wishes that CCP cared enough about him to make rule changes on his behalf.

.....besides. The Goons WANTED this war ultimately. Free shots at everyone that hates them, in highsec, without concord interference? The idea that they were running scared and cried to CCP is just silly.
