Suggestion for a new logistics ship type

I've been looking over the upcoming changes to frigates, destroyers and barges and the following idea occurred to me. The idea came from the mention in the dev blog that exhumers will need to be supported to be viable yet do not have the EHP to be repped since in most cases they can be 1 shotted.

Perhaps in order to support not just those but fleets in general we could have a type of logistics ship that projects a protective bubble around it's target which either greatly increases all of its resistances in either shield or armour or in some other way makes it tougher to kill such as an EHP boosting benefit which may perhaps be in the form of a boost to shield/Armour HP etc.

It would certainly be a new and potentially interesting variant on a theme and in these modern times of Alpha damage being an important part of engagements, the ability of some logistics pilots to react and defend a Primary/Secondary more quicker than those on the other side would surely enhance the enjoyment of successful engagements.

In other words, Command Ships and warfare-link T3s.

A passive fleet wide buff is not what I'm talking about at all, and as you rightly say it already exists so there would be little need for another ship performing that role.

What I'm speaking of is an effect, no doubt running off the capacitor that focuses upon a single subcapital ship and, for example, gives it a significant bonus to shield or armour resistances, such that they are in the late 90's. In this case the ability to save a ship from being primaried and annihilated would depend upon the skill and reflexes of the logistics pilot.

If the logistics ship had the ability to run two of these then perhaps a ship receiving one of them would be boosted to say 90-95% resistances while one receiving both would be boosted to perhaps 98-99% resistances.

Watch combat fleets abuse this and make themselves invincible... especially when used in tandem with traditional logistics ships.

And hulks can't be "one-shotted" by a single ship if they fit a tank.
