Auto-looting - (possibly for team BFF)

This has probably been suggested before as it seems quite glaring IMO.

I would like to have access to some sort of auto-looting mechanic. Something that exists in many MMOs already.
Instead of the current: double-click -> select all -> drag to cargo

We could have an option to enable auto-looting on double click, ie, you double click and everything gets transferred to cargo.

Obviously, this needs to be an option since there are instances where you don't want everything (ie PVP) but in hauling and salvaging/looting, it would save quite a bit of tedious and repetitive finger work for the player.

---

As a better "solution", though likely harder to implement, would be having a module that auto-loots.

---

Some people might say that programming/scripting a bot with this feature would be easier, and it certainly would be. But it's not like a bot gets tired of doing repetitive tasks... a player does.

I just think this would be one of those small little things that would make eve a better and more enjoyable game.

For this i would say a in game script that links salvager and tractor beam modules to pick up loot as they come into range. It would still require manual targeting as normal. It would essentially be making them a weapon group running at the salvager's cycle time but auto failing the salvager if it is not in range. The tractor beam would function as normal though it may require some adjustment to match the salvager's cycle time and to make the activation as a single unit.

Im split on the issue I dont want an automatic looter but as you put it a user controlled moved to cargo sounds alot nicer and less meaner on the server on what to pick if you run out of cargo, espeically if it came with a button to select all real quick.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

The point wouldn't be to be able to do everything automated without the polayer needing to do stuff. The point would be to save on repetitive tasks. I've done a lot of salvaging and after a time it gets quite discomfortable. I've even set one of my mouse's button to double click and another to "ctrl + a" but it's still quite tedious.

I prefer a module (or a script for a module) for the simple reason that it makes the game more "real". Instead of the loot magically appearing in your hold, there's a module that's pulling the stuff in. With a module, it would even make it a lot easier for looting only specific items, since you would only need to deactivate it. PvP ships would likely not even carry it so they wouldn't ever be forced to loot all.

This is one of these little tasks, which gets really frustrating after some time. Please oh please fix the clicking hell.

I would be so happy if looting while salvaging was improved. I think something as simple as looting all cargo when salvaging your own wreck is enough. It would make a world of difference.

Oh please, yes!

How about a new kind of "worker drones" which are able to salvage and/or loot (which will work on "aggressive") being able to carry 1 or 2 m³ in Salvage loot as well as 10 m³ in regular loot? This wouldn't make them OP, you'd still have to grab more valueable items yourself, but they'd help you clearing all those small/medium wrecks within sites without having to drop/abandon them.

On the other hand, a simple "transfer all" button wouldn't hurt either - as seen in other MMORPGs. How about a "scoop to cargo bay" option for cargo containers?

I hate when after I've tractored all the wrecks into range, and salvaged them all, that I am left with a cloud of cargo containers that I must click on individually, select all contents, drag, and repeat.

A "scoop all nearby loot to cargo" function would be great - it takes any white or blued loot within 2,500 of your ship, assuming you have the cargo space.

It would make salvaging much nicer.

It would work well for incursion mom sites. Cargo would be auto looted by nearby fleet members, but not 3rd party looters to whom wreck is yellow.
