It is time to take these hulls seriously.

Redesign:
Vargur

Minmatar Battleship Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to large projectile turret rate of fire and 10% bonus to large projectile turret falloff per level

Marauder Skill Bonus: 7.5% bonus to shield boost amount and 7.5% bonus to large projectile turret tracking per level

Role Bonus: 100% bonus to large projectile weapon damage, + 100% bonus to range and velocity of tractor beams

ADD: It can produce ammo and repair its hull and armor using materials it can salvage using its tbeams etc.

Why? The Vargur is designed to work for extended periods of time in deep space,

In addition: A pilot in a marauder does not show up in local.

Only the Vargur? And it takes armor and hull dmg? And yes, ammo is expensive.Cool

I rahter have another ship or specialized profession ship set aside for civillian activities of inspace manufacturing.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

That in and of itself is an interesting idea, however given the role bonus on the Marauder already, allowing it to actually function per the flavor text would be pretty sweet.

Why can't they make marauders the solo pwnmobiles of the battleshipclass just as T3 are to the cruiser class?

Because its T2 not T3. Although I can agree that the Marauders were made obsolete with the addition of the Noctis. I would agree to an increase in the tractor beam range and possibly a small built in 'bonus' to capacitors.

CCP is supposed to be bringing more T3s out ... cant wait to see the crazy amount of uses for a T3 battleship - although I can imagine the several billion in price they will be.

I would also like to see the range bonus on the murader but not the access or speed bonsues.

Mind you its not a swiss army knife the amount of bonuses should be restricted to 4 as with most other tech 2s are.
