Just a couple of ideas to smooth out some gripes I've seen with others and hand myself.

~Instead of using filters, allow the player to create and name separate divisions in their own hangar so they can sort their items out into separate spaces without needing to constantly search or use filters.

~Replace automatically loading the Captain's Quarters with a single button a player is presented with when docking. The button will load the station environment if the player wants to see it but the player will still have access to the neocom so if they want to just pop into a station for a second to drop something off, they dont have to deal with the Captain's Quarters loading up or having to enable/disable it via the menu. They can simply choose to load or not load it by a single button press.

~Reform the Captain's Quarters and replace the current TV with a display that can be modified by the player to display information or notices that they want. Add more of these displays so the player can have a "command center" as big and detailed (or not) as they wish. These displays could be set to display anything the player needs/wants to keep an eye on, including industry/research jobs, market orders, wallet information, market graphs, etc etc.

~Develop a way to extend EVE onto a second monitor such that market windows, info windows, chat windows, etc etc, could be moved and used on a second monitor without getting in the way of the player's game view.

You're looking for a Station Warehouse or other container. Those already exist.

Adding another step to docking is a bad idea, especially for those who want to just pop in and out of a station. Keep your view set to hangar view unless you really want CQ, at which point you can toggle that on. The button is on the station panel menu thing.

This is very complex and rather computing/graphics intensive. Not a bad idea, but I doubt CCP will implement it anytime very soon.

Multi-monitor support for something like this already exists. Use Windowed or Fixed Window display mode with the resolution you want, and then use the In Space and In Station camera settings in the display and graphics settings to shift where the center of the view appears.

I think you already can turn off CQ, can't you? Then there is a button to load it on the station menu.

As for hangar divisions/folders, for the love of god yes CCP why wasn't this in the new inventory?!

As for making the tv in cq customizable, I can't even remember what it looks like so meh.

Also, to the above poster, I'm aware of station containers but do you know why CCP want us to keep using them instead of just giving us folders? Is this some kind of indie thing im missing, coz they seem pretty low value so I had presumed they were unimportant.

Station containers have password protection and auditing features, plus are easy to process as "items" for purposes of corp hangars, trade, etc.
Ed: They don't have any other use beyond storing stuff in station, as they are too big to put in any ship.
