I wasn't sure where to post this so I just posted this in general discussion.

Hey!

I just recently started a Youtube channel dedicated to EVE videos. I am currently a member of RvB and so most of the videos will be from RvB fleet fights or other ops/events. Also when I get more experienced I might do some solol PvP.

I also made a video which is called: "EVE is beautiful" which is just a video I made by using all the random clips I had frapsed and were taking up space on my hard drive. I am not really good at editing but I am getting better and better so the next one I make might have some cooler effects!

I play on low settings because I have a 256mb graphics card and it is still gorgeous. I am thinking about getting a new MacBook pro 17 and see it all on max.

Good job, great song and footage of weapons effects with ships fighting in space.

Would be excellent to see a video incorporating that action with the awe inspiring visually entertaining locations throughout the Eve Universe. Something like a Tourist Video of Eve presenting various ships in combat at different exotic locals. Camera view fades in from black and pans the entire area, then zooms in on ships engaging each other before fading out to black and back in to another different location and repeats the process, always showcasing another different area of eye candy.

Probably be a lot of work and a long term project. I'm sure being in collaboration with other players would reduce the time spent creating footage in these eye candy areas.

I had posted this in another thread but the various pics show you what I mean by different exotic locations :

Cosmos Agent Locations and Missions used to have a lot of excellent Eye Candy (Spatial Rift to Aether Drone Queen). I think these are some of the more awe inspiring visually entertaining graphics within Eve :

Guild Wars

Lord Manel's Mansion and another view

Asteroid Station and a closer view

Lord Bastion

The Hyperbole Nexus

Serpentis Science Lab

Red Rock Outpost

There was even more scenes like these at various Cosmos Agent and Mission locations. Even the basic ones like The Prophet's Spa, Manor House, No Excuse and Crystal Boulevard are still cool.

Don't get me wrong, the new updated graphics is definitely stunning and awe inspiring. Especially when viewing things like the Amarr Cathedral of Oceans and getting to sneak a peek at it's interior.

I think CCP needs to create more areas like that within the Eve Universe and include various shots of those in the trailers they create.

I really like your idea and making a video like that would be pretty awesome, but it would take a long time (like you mentioned) to get all the footage to make the video.
I agree with you that its pretty sad that CCP removed those beautiful structures/ruins and other visuals from missions and complexes. I really loved looking at those in a boring level 4 mission couple of years ago. There are still some of them left and that might be enough to make a video like the one you describe. I was also thinking about making some footage inside Wormholes because they truly are beautiful, with those sleeper buildings and other stuff that is inside them. Heck I might even start doing that in the next couple of days, the biggest issue however is scanning down the Wormholes and getting out of them again.

I'd suggest spending $400 to build yourself a gaming PC, then you don't need to upgrade/you can upgrade slightly less on the MBP and get better gaming AND a mac laptop for the same price.
