Give us the ability to civilize null sec

Null is controlled and run by large alliances with massive cap fleets. That is fine. Its a sand box and the country with the biggest army rules. But I think we could improve the experience for smaller alliances without taking power away from the large ones or nerfing they ships

There are some of us that would like to see null more civilized. But to do that we need more tools at our disposal.

These are some ideas. If they do appeal to CCP I trust them to do something that is balanced. some food for thought:

1. Gate and station guns for null sec for Sov Holders (TCU up in system). These would be installed by whoever holds sov. As player maintained guns they would need ammo replaced and would be destroyable. Personally I would like to be able to station guns near any celestial. i.e. Asteroid Belts.

The guns would be auto much like the low and high sec ones except the sov holder sets the parameters. Much like the attack options for your pos. Might need an ihub upgrade to install guns in system.

2. For a monthly fee, for systems with a TCU, a communications module in the IHUB that calls concord much like they go to the aid of people in high sec. Such a system might have restrictions on player stations settings and guns and such. the idea is a player controlled type of high sec in null where you really could have a trade hub and such.

3. Expand the universe. by alot. like 10x what it is now. Even though most of null is empty, it isn't available because its controlled by a handful of alliances. Lots of little alliances and corps dream of a little piece of heavn out in null that is unclaimed. but there is none.

I dont' have all the answers, but I know we lack a lot of the tools we would need if we want to bring civilization to the sandbox.

And please, tougher mining barges. Its a joke how easy it is to kill a 200mil isk hulk. having so strip miners can do massive damage to ships. more power and cpu so we can have large shield extenders or spider tank each other. or give us an extra high slot or 2. Hulk 2.0

Meh, yeah, there's really no reason player owned sov can't have defensive sentries. Obviously not as powerful as the empire gate guns/station guns, but having them available would make sense. incapacitable, destructable, etc. I like.

nonono. NO. A thousand times no. YOU moved to nullsec, you didn't move highsec to you. If you want CONCORD response, provide it from your own members. The four governments all make CONCORD, so they get their protection.. why the hell would CONCORD come to you? Set up a permanent homeland defense fleet and fill it. Don't except NPCs to do your job in YOUR space, not theirs.

Fair enough.. although IMO, that just gives 10x more space for us big alliances to claim. The problem isn't that there's no space, as you yourself say, it's the lack of opportunity for small alliances to hold out against supercap blobs in sov warfare. Fix that problem, and I think the "room" issue will resolve itself.

meh on the mining barges. they're already powerful enough in their mining systems, you have to balance them out somehow, right? Just happens to be tank. Get a lot of friends, mine together, safety in numbers.

I'm all for smaller alliance making "their own slice of Heaven in nullsec".. just please remember, it's STILL NULLSEC, not you're little homemade piece of highsec. Win it yourself, customise it, and DEFEND it yourselves.. that's what makes it so satisfying!

Yes on sentries - its your SOV, why cant you have gates on guns and stations? If Empire can have it, why cant players have it in their own empire?
No on Concord - Concord is run by the empires - your SOV is not.
Yes on Expansion. Space is supposed to be massive.

Already in game,

Step 1: Set destination to jita
Step 2: Follow the yellow lights
Step 3: Hit yourself with a book until you start seeing red 0's on your screen
Step 4: Concorde in "nullsec"

Post with your main.

Also, no to all of this, especially Concord. Can't defend your own space? Then you don't deserve it.
