It's useful module so you don't waste 2,5 minutes mining almost empty asteroid.

In nullsec everything is automated so it's scrap metal in there.

So you're intentionally CHOOSING to make your ship cost-efficient to gank in exchange for some little bit of convenience.

I was going to ask what the purpose of the survey scanner was. Really, if that's all it tells you is whats left, so what? Target the multiple asteroids you're sitting on and be ready to roll your strip miners over to the next.....oh right ,forgot can't do that while AFK.

So close...

What's properly fit Hulk then?
One that will never get ganked.

There isn't one.

Why do you think that a Hulk is the only mining vessel in Eve?

Show us how to fit a tank to Covetor. Because it looks like we carebears are bad at this game.

I suppose gankers could gank in other ships than destroyers and feel like it was well worth it?

Gankers can gank in any ship they want with varied success/reward.
Miners can mine in any ship they want with varied success/reward.

And both of them can do it without changing the mechanics of the game.

One that is tanked such that it's unprofitable to gank. 30k EHP is fairly unprofitable to gank.

The Rokh mines more Ore than a Covetor and tanks better than some Orcas. At the same time.

I want to see 290k EHP fit with eight Modulated Deep Core Miner IIs right now.

Edit: Because it doesn't really require effort to get over 200k in Orca. Even with cargo rigs.

Some Orcas.

I see plenty of people fitting their Orcas with 2x Cargo Expanders.

Anyway, here's 258 EHP, beating your Orca. With gang links from the Orca, it's 306. 322 with Implants.

Then they do it wrong. How can someone not see potential of that huge structure HP?

Hell, even without Bulkheads it's still over 170k.

Cool, so let face it then people, ganking in battleships would be ideal as you can probably gank any exhumer, tanked or not tanked, without fail.

Or wait, is there a more logical reason ganking exhumers is done with destroyers?

You know..

There could be a gap in this area to allow a fun new module for the orca to use on other mining ships.

Hows about a module that uses X cap a second to run and while activated on a ship in range creates a "Remote shield generator over charger".

The idea being when activated this module will buff the target mining ships shields by say... 10k.. or maybe 20k? And let it run all its highs to protect some hulks, only one allowed to be activated on any mining ship at any time.

could be good for low sec 0.0 as well as high sec.

not a bad idea i think :)

Increase in EHP is around 5000. LSE would be nice, but no grid for that.

Tengu as off grid booster in hisec. Nice, but it doesn't mine more than Covetor.

It's a 50% increase in your tank, taking you from 20k to 30k EHP.

Never said it did. You demanded something specific and ridiculous. So because you didn't think far ahead enough to make it actually impossible, you had to move the goalposts yet again.

A max 4x MLUII mining Rokh mines more than a Covetor and has about 115k EHP. There is no way to cost effectively gank that ship.

Who said I have Hulk with crappy tank? It's mixed yield+tank fit with 25k (28k overheated) against thermal.
