that depends entirely on what you do in the game, i don't fly combat so the ancillary shield booster doesn't affect me in the slightest for example, it would be just a bit condescending of me to come out with something like:

"I don't see why so many people are crying about the ancillary shield booster, which may be a bit unbalanced, but does not seem to me gambreaking. Besides, I expect that with the next iteration cycles they will sort out the worst issues."

don't you think?

Sorry, but i don't agree with the argument you provide.

Reasons:

1) I tend not to heavily favor one playstyle over others, but pvp is rather low in my priority scale. I tend to do much more production, exploration and trading than any kind of pvp, so I am much more on the industrialist side of the spectrum than on the pvp side, and yet I don't find this change gamebreaking. Annoying, yes, decreasing my clicking efficiency, yes, gamebreaking, no.

2) Having a module that basically makes another existing one obsolete, while currently is not gamebreaking either, is a very bad step in the direction of WoW. "Give them more levels and more epic gear". Is that the direction you want EVE to go?

3) As you can see in the dev blogs, they ARE going to iterate on the inventory system. I see no such blog about the new modules.

the argument? sorry but how exactly is me saying that a particular function being game breaking or not being dependent on your perspective and pointing out that assuming the shield booster is more game breaking than the inventory to many people is condescending?

you'll notice i didn't say the shield booster wasn't an issue? simply pointed out that the size of the issue is dependent on what you do in game

The login screen music it's so sucks... No offence Roll

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

Really loving the direction ship art design is going - particularly liking the new look of Minmatar seen with the Tornado and Hound.

I hope this is the kind of feedback the art team is getting.

I don't fly Amarr, but if I was, I'd be dissapointed with the new ships. Shouldn't they be golden or at least less brownish? Not the right art direction imho.
Looks like Minmatar undercover cooperation there...actually...Ammatar.

Probably the worst of the most pathetic pilots in New Eden.

Unified Inventory works well but has a couple of issues...

When you open Item and Ship Hangers they should remain open in the same location when you leave and reenter the station.
If you have containers open in station, they should remain open when you leave and reenter the station.
If you have Audit Log Secure Containers configured, items put in the container should be locked or unlocked as determined by container configuration regardless of how the items are put in the container.

It would be nice to be able to Shift-Click Open or Right-Click and click 'Open Container' a container in the Item Hanger and have it open the same as if you had Shift-Click Opened or Right Clicked and clicked 'Open in a Separate Window' the container from Unified Inventory.

Sorry but this patch is a mess, docking, ship switching, grab some ammo, its all not really working - double click on ship in station closes the station-inventory instead of opening the cargobay.. such things.

Please make a option to use it like the old inventory or roll it back completely.

okay..I gave 'it' time. Now take it away. This 'unified nightmare cargo chinese fire drill snafu' needs a deep deep deep hole dug for it so it's never found and brought to light again. I hate it. The wife hates it. My kid hates it. She's gone back to World of WarCraft over it. You've cost me income now. Get it out of the game. Don't 'fix' it. Don't 'tweak' it. Don't 'promise better' on next release. Get the (insert expletive here) rid of it.

Bad enough we're still battling issues with nightmarish graphics on a 64bit system. UI tends to do really nasty stuff in the middle of a fight like removing the overview or turning the whole screen white. Can we not fix the REAL issues instead of making things 'pretty and cool to look at' ...issues like 'playability'?
Fix the graphics
Toss the Unified Garbage Bin
More pretesting before deployment
More testing for practical application before deploying
Less 'damn that looks cool' when you can't see it anyways because of the UI

but I ramble...just fix it guys...FFS please just fix the damn broken parts and stop fixing what already works just fine...please...

Congratulations CCP, as far as my 2 accounts are concerned, you just killed Eve with this Inventory crap. How the **** you could release this in the current state after the amount of feedback you got from SiSi is beyond me, well no thinking about it, its what you do as you seem to ignore the people who play the game and do what you want.

2 accounts now going dormant until the subs run out.

i am hearing alot of my old buddies saying the new ui crap is killing eve. 3 guys that never miss a day logging in are now not even bothering, i talked to them on msn and was told that the new ui is the reason they are quitting.

1 of them gave me his stuff, i believe that guy wont be back.. ccp wake the fk up, put down the donuts, and fix this crap u made or continue to lose subscribers until this game becomes so underpopulated that your all out of jobs.

at least bother to reply and give us the same old bs line that your investigating the issue.. i mean really wake up

Exactly
Genau
Spot on
CCP has until my time expires to ditch this crap or make it optional...that's 4 accounts CCP...just 4 more accounts...only 4 of them...

Right, had a bit of time to get used to using the inventory.

It is good, very good.

I especially like how easy it is to move things between hangers and floating containers and containers in ship cargo holds and silo's and jet cans, etc.. All on one menu, short hovers displaying contents, allowing for re-naming of things, off lining, bla de bla, the inventory root menu is genial, the details are wonderful.

More space and less Tetris box juggling, for me, you may integrate the science bundle menu at your convenience.

The volume and price of goods are there, which is necessary haulage detail. Goods weight would be irrelevant, and electro-static gravitational inertia, makes no sense to the internet, so happy days without that sticky mess.

And yes, we can still open many, many containers and stack them around the screen, transferring stuffs from the inv. menu, which is actually the most accurate way for the more disconcerted pilot.

There has been some good advances, and I can't wait to see what CCP has in progress for the POS update, 'cos honestly, I have lost many billions of ISK to POS mechanics, first of all kicking out and shooting all my favourite ships, then throwing a Capitol at a random passer by, the guns decided he was not a worthy target, and the irony dismayed me that day.

I'm spending my extra cash on beer at weekends now, till I forget all about it, as a silent protest. While playing Eve.

Getting you on your feet.

WRT filters:

1: currently active inventory filters are always connected via logic AND. i know that within filters you can specify whether all or any filter conditions should be met. when combining filters in the inventory however there is no such option. this behavior is ok if you have a filter for lets say "high slots modules" and "unpacked items" - those filters will work together just fine. but activating "high slot modules" and "low slot modules" at the same time obviously doesn't yield any results. it should be possible to connect active filter sets via logic OR as well in order to make the tool more powerful.

2: so i ditched my "folder" strategy consisting of 15 containers and created the appropriate filters in order to replicate the previous layout. this is great because all items are in the same location now, can be accessed in the contract system from remote locations and fitting ships from within the fitting browser works as intended now. however, when i bring home loot i want to keep these items separated from my stock of items. some i might want to keep, some i want to sell, some need repair, most will need repackaging, others will already be packed and in general looted items are of completely arbitrary type. currently there is no way to handle these items with filters. in order to that there should be some kind of "recently added" filter, allowing me to specify a time span so i can actually identify the loot once i dragged it into my inventory. my current workaround is to use a container for loot - obviously you can't repackage and repair inside a container which turns the whole repair, repackage and decide what to do with the item thing into way more work than it should be.

3: also, if you get to work on the logical OR: please also add the option to negate filters. that way you get the whole bool algebra working. for example negating all filters and connecting them via AND would yield items that are currently not tracked by any filter. or filtering by charges but subtracting ammo could remove lots of items when looting for scripts. there are lots of useful applications ...

Inventory is still crap. I know how to use it. Ive given it a chance. Its just a lot more work to do the same things as i was doing before with the old inventory.

People joke about you guys adding extra mouse work in for no reason and here again you prove worthy of that reputation.

Back down please, this is just an example of a good idea in the wrong place. Its not an improvement to eve (in any way) over the old system.

Someone with the authority to do so needs to step up and stomp this inventory out of eve, or return the exact functionality that we used to enjoy (well, you never know how good what you had was, until its gone).Cry

Ships need to have their own individual cargo/drone/fuel/hanger that remember their place.
Stations need to have their own hanger window that remembers its own place.
Containers in station need to have their own windows that remember their place.
Wrecks and cans in space need to have their own window that remember their own place.

In other words, give us back the far better system, the one we had just a week ago.

It would be nice to categorize each type of container so i didnt have to find a place for each ship cargohold, or new station container.
Like eve recognized that i have a new ship and when opening the cargo, it opens in the same stack as all my other ships instead of how i used to have to drag it into the stack.

Same with other types of containers.
So each category of container had its own place, dictated by the last place i had personally located the window of an item of that category.

If people want to manage their items with a navigation pane, add the unified inventory button to the neocom.

The singe window nonsense is a slap in the face of a drag and drop interface. Personally i have my cargo windows 1 item high which makes using the navigation pane a pain. Im never going to use up more vertical space with my inventory since i do sometimes like to see some internet spaceships from time to time...

Anyway, sort this idiocy out. Its getting quite irritating now.
