It has happened to everyone
You got killed , you got the kill rights , but the one who killed you is no where to be found
You found a target , but he warped off before you locked on
Your corp hangar, a few ships has gone missing, you suspect them to be stolen.

All of the above can be avoided with the simple feature of a tracer.
But as everything , there should be a counter to that , which I'll get into later.

In PvP , we could add a tracer module , which we can fire a tracer at the other ship so we can know the location of the ship no , accurate to the system.
For corps , we could push out a series of tracing contracts similar to the insurance grading.
For silver , it will be a discreet tracer that will takes a lot of time for the pilot of root out , and it will trace them to the region.
For platinum , it will be next to impossible for the tracer to be completely removed , and it will trace the ship to the exact warp location.

Then of course ,there is always a way to counter it ,we could add on a tracer jamming module to ships to allow people the option to stay stealthy all the way.
Or they could dock in a station with a dry dock service which they can pay a certain amount of isk for their ships to be check for bugs and get them removed, for a price of course.

And to prevent tracers from being spammed , I think the cooldown period of each of them should at least be 3 minutes and each of the tracer should cost at least 10 mil ,so they are only used on the most valuable ships of a corp , or on the most valuable targets.

People may argue that would make carebearing even tougher , but then if you wanted easy , you'll be playing Star Trek Online
Thoughts?

So how does a tracer mod solve this problem when it requires a lock to fire a tracer?

tracers are like bombs , you have to align your ship to the target and hope for the best
theres an idea

I'll give it a try. NO. Learn to play EVE.

If you're gonna post here thinking your idea is the greatest thing since bacon and that it will save EVE and possibly all humankind with it, you're gonna have a bad time.

Only thought that crossed my mind was this: epic fail.

Why do they call an unknown system W-space or WH-space and not U-space?

Or, learning to play it as it was intended?

who defines how is a game intended to be play?
its the players , not the developers , thats the beauty of a sandbox game.

I like where your head is at, but I disagree with the implementation.

Perhaps something better would be an area of effect resonance disruption, once any ship hit with your resonance frequency is detected by your probes, you have a much better chance of probing down that specific ship much more quickly.

This way the scout ships can fit this AOE module, when the guy starts to align he hits the Resonance Disruption field, then deploys probes around the system and the ship he is looking for is a bigger signature to his probes only, and is much faster to track down.

This affect should last a specified amount of time, with diminishing results over time, regardless of jumps to other systems, but you would have to keep tabs on them enough to follow them.

As for tracking stolen corp ships, I disagree, if you let someone steal your ships, you deserve it. Working as intended.

But I see some room for a little bit of additional tracking capability in small gang PvP.
