It may be paranoid, but the fact is that the UI ******* sucks and CCP Arrow needs to get his head checked.

I thought I'd write the laundry list of issues I have with the new UI, but I see it all written here and in the new UI devblog thread by others, so there doesn't seem to be any point in doing it. The only two points I'd like to emphasize is, that a single inventory window just isn't enough and it seems to take a lot of time to load at times.

The single window works somewhat ok while you aren't doing anything inventory intensive. As soon as that changes you encounter a myriad of issues. A single window just can't be made to function efficiently for every purpose. I want a small, simple window for my cargohold, but if I configure it for that, it becomes useless for any serious inventory management. If I leave the tree showing and the window expanded, it becomes too large and cumbersome when dealing with small/simple inventories and eats a lot of valuable screen space. No matter how you configure it, it's bad for some other common usage. If you make windows for every usage you need, most of your play time is reduced to playing with inventory windows. This one window to rule them all was a terrible design philosophy and I can't believe anyone with any UI experience ever thought it was a good idea.

In addition to that basic problem, the UI takes time to load at times and seems sluggish. I don't know if it's caused by the extra features like price of cargo showing or is it caused by how the whole system is programmed, but it isn't making it any easier to like the new system. It's like a spoiled cherry on a **** sunday.

I'm sure you'll get around to fixing these issues at some point, but they've turned off all interest I had in logging on to the game. I've played games on a constant basis since the 80's on multiple platforms and I can say without hesitation, that you've made one of the crappiest UI I've ever had the pleasure of using. Not the worst, since you're up against some pretty tough competition, but still a solid fail that drains a player's will to play the game.

Hope you get it fixed sooner rather than later.

Two things related to FW:

1) I have observed that if you help kill someone, but are off grid because you exploded before they did, you will not receive any LP. I'm not really sure how this might be fixed, but it would be nice if something could be sorted out. It kind of sucks to lose your ship and not get any payout on top of that.

2) I was on a bunker bash today in Raa, and the LP payout is pretty terrible once you consider how many people are going to be shooting at that bunker. I think I got like 600 or so. Maybe instead of a fixed quantity being split between the assaulting fleet, a lump of LP could be given to each participant. 5-10k LP per person would be a nice windfall to make people feel like they weren't wasting their time without also giving out an absurd payout to people whoring on the bunker kill. It could also provide a nice mechanic to reward people in the losing militia for persevering and retaking systems by adding a multiplier to the conquest bonus based upon how badly they were losing.

The hell is this sh*t? They didn't learn after we destroyed the monument outside of jita? WTF is it going to take for them to learn to get it right.

They have removed the link to this thread from the login screen. It seems they do not like criticism, and have the link identified as the root of all evil. This reaction is ridiculous.

All of my words are secondhand and useless in the face of this.

Tree view explorer came well before Windows 7 and it's still a piece of crap almost nobody uses.

But, most important, tree view or not, you can open 2-3-5-10 explorer windows (with tree view or not) and drag'n'drop stuff at will.

So why did CCP copy the annoying Windows tree view but not the ability to have 2-3-5-10 open?

Feedback that does not conform to their expectations is bad and needs to be swept under a rug.

As logistics pilot

1) I don't use inventory 99.5% of time;

2) I don't use missiles + turned them off to prevent DPS drop in massive fights;

3) I don't participate in factional warfare;

4) I don't use any new modules;

5) I see incursions community imploding.

So here is my feedback: meh. Incarna was much more interesting even in form of jail cell. It seems DUST consumed all CCP's "expansions-capable" resources and EVE won't get anything interesting until DUST development will be frozen.

I can't say I like the new inventory system but given time, I'm sure I'll get use to it.

New inventory windows remembering there position would be a vast improvement.

Also separate the In Space and In Station so that if I have the inventory open in a station it does not automatically open when I undock.

The main annoyance is currently the wasted space at the top and bottom. At the bottom you have number of items and cost each on there own line, put them on one line. At the top you have icon/details/list icons and the expand/collapse index on one line with the search and capacity bar on a second. Again, make this 1 line. Stop wasting space around the boards. Monitor real estate is so valuable in Eve, plz remember this anytime you make UI changes.

I do a fair amount of industry but the idea of trying to work with items that only have BPCs that come from random drops means I will completely ignore these.

I'm really trying to find something positive to say about the expansion but I can't. Escalation brought some great stuff that improved my game but not Inferno. This is not to say that I am anti-Inferno, you introduced/iterated a lot of great stuff, just not stuff that I can comment on.

The good thing about this expansion is the timing. The weather is nice, so no need to sit in front of the computer. Some alt subs run out soon and won't be resubbed.

Hello,

I don't really do Forum stuff so apologies if I break any rules.

I came on here during DT just to make a comment about the expansion which I think was supposed to be an additional service but has a negative impact on gameplay (at least on mine !!!)

The issue is the new feature whereby when you hover over a module in your inventory it helpfully gives you an indication of its value.

I make a good living out of buying up certain trade goods cheaply in the outlying regions, and then ferrying them back to Empire (usually through Null-Sec). It's risky but highly profitable, particularly for certain low-volume high price goods (such as Insignias)

Since the new patch the amount of goods I'm getting from Buy Orders in these regions has dropped off almost to nothing as people who were previously only aware of regional prices are getting a better indication of their value in Jita.

I kind of assumed that this was part of the game - finding market opportunities that other players haven't picked up on and exploiting them. You've just wiped out that part of the game at a stroke with this feature. It's a shame because that was my favourite bit.

It was fun while it lasted though, so thanks.

Firstly I would like to say I love the Inferno trailer and have always enjoyed EVE online's trailers (in fact I still watch the dominion trailer while running missions just to make myself feel even more epic than I already do). With regard to Inferno I have some likes and dislikes:

Likes:
- Love the new missile turrets and missile effects, I've been flying caldari since launch just to play with the new missiles, not productive at all but incredibly fun. Excellent job on this CCP, my favorite update yet just because of the missiles.

- I enjoy the new textures on the amarr ships, the gold makes them as elegant as their description suggests, great job.

- I wasn't around for the initial deployment but from what I've seen including the lack of a patch after updating the deployment went smoothly, good job CCP.

Dislikes:

- I like the concept of an all inclusive inventory window however the current window as it is feels incredibly clumsy, it took me a while to figure out where all of my ships went when I first logged on, really wish we could go back to the way it was before inferno. Having all of my cargo holds available in one window is awesome for corp office management and especially when leading a mining op in my orca. As far as improving this feature I would like to see the all inclusive inventory screen stay while in space (although it would be nice if wrecks didn't get attached to my cargo hold window, sort of annoying), while returning in station inventory to the original ships and items breakdown.

- It took me a while to figure out what was meant by mercenary marketplace, it would be nice if we were able to see some sort of stats such as kill/loss ratio or isk killed/lost ratio for potential mercenaries. I like the concept but I feel this needs work.

All in all an excellent update (primarily because of the missiles), you've made a believer out of me.

This new UI is so bad to use on a slow internet connection. Running two clients and in a C3 WH system where it has to open a HUGE index list means that changing a ship or grabbing some ammo can take up to 2 minutes.

Salvaging and grabbing loot from containers is much worse now.
'
I mean to say, CHUCK IT OUT. Go back to the old system as a starting point and dont do anything that dosen't make it better

LolLolLol ease up on CCP, those devs are straining their mental faculties to come up with this half-baked idea that they got some info about it from their anuses... their freakin' heads are up on their rectums that they can't hear or see player comments against this implementation...LolLolLol

Well, its understandable.

The game itself is good, or else people wouldnt be playing it.

One bad change doesnt make the whole game garbage afterall Blink
And the issues we are discussing in this thread would most likely not affect new players once they got their
head around it.
So having a link to a raging thread is probarly not very healthy, and not really putting the game as a whole in a fair
light.

i agree, the game as a whole is pretty good, and i think the rest of those in anger would concur, but one thing you ought to know, and i guess all the peeps raging here agree that we, yes, including me, are raging because we want the game to stay as a pretty good game, we don't want its "uberness" to get scaled down just because of a good idea but sadly, implemented badly. The patch contain two big mistakes.

First but not bigest mistake the darkbrown sh*t colored amarrian ships.
Maybe the designer came from the toilet before he created this ugly colors. Hey man what drug you used ?

But the second is the bigest mistake in the eve history. The inventory system.

Bigger than incarna mistake, because that is, didn't made influence to the gameplay. The cloth prices not ruined the gameplay. You bought when you want to.
But this inventory does ruined the game. The inventory system is the most important part of play if not work the game not fun.
And you need to using this, you dont have choices you using or not. You must to use.

CCP GET your programmers back into the shop and remove EVERYTHING they did to the inventory system! Its a f**king piece crap!
Cant even go to my pos with pulling my hair out! i want to be able to open my CHA, SMA, and cargo in separate windows, in the size i want and the position i want. Now i have to Wait for everything around my tower to load, scroll through 600 items hold **** then open then re-size it, eveytime! It takes 10 min to reship and rearm instead of 30 seconds!
And if you don't have territory or POS's to manage then shut your holes carebears!

At least the inventory system is playable. The issue with people remaining in chats makes the game unplayable as intended.
