I love the new missile graphics and sounds. Not happy at all with the inventory system. Hard to work with to move items around and salvaging has became a real pain in the butt because of it. Give us the old inventory back!

Missiles cool. Inventory sucks.
Change it back please. Or at least make it so we can keep the ship and item window open when we redock. I thought you changed the session change thing for faster turn around. Well you just screwed that up.

I like the new missile system.

I hate:
Stealth defender nerf (never saw a Dev Blog or forum post on it, just appeared in patch notes).

Being forced to the new inventory. I don't mind adding a new feature for those who want it but please give me a check box to go back to the old way. I liked being able to open a million windows with all my inventory spaces and hate the new approach (and shift+click on everything isn't an acceptable solution to me). It couldn't be that hard to leave both systems in the game.

I find the new inventory system hard to navigate and it seems much slower when trying to loot many wrecks in my salvager.

Dear Devs, please undo the changes made to the inventory system.

It is very difficult to have two or more inventory windows open at once. Most players prefer "boxes" for their inventory, not a directory tree style layout. I have always believed that this is an important ISK sink. It certainly is for me, and I often have to buy multiple containers in each station to maintain my inventories.

If un-doing the changes is politically unfeasible for CCP, please consider the following:
* Allow shift-click to work anywhere, and not just in the index.
* It should take just as few clicks to open windows like they were before the expansion, not more.
* Change it back so that when you dock, the ships and items windows will re-open.
* Fix the bug that opens / closes windows on session changes
* Allow us to double-click our ships to look in their cargoholds
* Make the windows remember where they used to be.
* Make the cargohold stay open on undock (and make it stay the same size).
* Make it easy (just as few clicks) to get in & out of a jetcan WHILE KEEPING YOUR CARGOHOLD OPEN, AND IN A SEPARATE WINDOW. Anything else is a HUGE disservice to miners.
* When floating around a POS, please allow us to filter out items by distance. If I can't open every Cruise launcher outside the Force Field, then I don't need to see that they are there in the directory tree.
*The old functionality of inventory management should remain while the enhancements are added. Losing that functionality is a step backwards.

I like the value in the lower corner, even though I suspect it is causing me lag. This was a great addition.
(For the record, I am not all negative Big smile )

I realize that changing things back might seem like the company will "lose face" with the public. On the contrary, I believe that responsiveness to customer feedback is the ultimate goal, and that is why I like EVE, and have stuck by CCP, even though monoclegeddon and all that noise.

Please realize that EVE, more than any other game, is about the accumulation of stuff. There is no practical limit (that I know of) for accumulating items. The recent changes made it harder to manage those items. I believe that this is an unfortunate move away from one of EVE's core values, one of the ones that makes it great.

This is my first forum post, ever for any game - This is how strongly I feel about the inventory issue.
(technically second, I posted in another htread to make sure it went into the correct one)

Thank you for reading my post.

I did not see anything in the patch notes about fixing the chat channels. Are they fixed? or do people still show in local and corp whether they are online or not?

I use Windows 8 consumer review and found after downloading the most recent build for Inferno that the shortcut supplied did not deploy the game. Sad After some updating of "DXSETUP" and other previous fixes and still no game load I made a shortcut to a file in the /bin file "EXEFILE" and now all is well and the game is loading I hope this helps any others that are currently out of game. The Unified Inventory system clearly does not work or was never thought out... I vote that we return to the way it was before the old system worked well and did not have all these problems. I can no longer move items around in my POS, Ratting and Mining is now impossible, and the inventory at a station, if you have a lot of items is impossible to work with now.

Return to the Inventory system we had before, please listen to your users. Thanks

New Inventory system sucks and is completely unusable. CCP should give players the option to "unselect" it and return to the old Invetory system that works.

New hangar and inventory IS TERIBBLE. Completly non functional and useless.

PLEASE GIVE US OLD HANGAR WINDOW. I like the previous post, allow players to "unselect" the new Inventory System. It should not be forced on us.

your crappy unified inventory is really bad, roll it back or make it optional! The old system worked fine and their were no complaints, so why change it?

My two cents in regards to Eve: Inferno

I have been a hard core player of EVE since I joined the game last March ‘11, according to Steam I have logged just under 1900 hours. Over 1800 hours were played prior to the end of April. As the ramp up to Inferno approached all I sensed was how the elements of the game I have grown to love were being stripped out. Aggression has been more rampant especially in hi-sec.

I will be up front and say that I am not a PvP player and I don't want to be. I love PvE and mining. When I joined there were clearly defined locations to mitigate the risk a player wanted to take. If you wanted to mine you stayed in Hi-sec. If you wanted to mine more expensive rocks then you had to go into low-sec or nul-sec. You knew the risks and you dealt with them. It's like going into a rough neighborhood; you take your chances if you go there.

There seems to be an escalation (pun intended) towards PvP kind of play, which I personally have no interest in.

Where is the balance in this?

Does that mean that updates can't be geared towards the PvP player? Of course not! I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game in the way that they want. I would not like an update that is geared towards care bears to take away from the game play of PvP players. They can take advantage of the update if, in the future, they need a break from that kind of game play. Sadly the same cannot be said when an update that is clearly directed at PvP players is forced upon non PvP players.

Making things easier to war-dec... How does this make any sense in area of space that are heavily NPC controlled? It doesn't. In contested space, it makes complete sense and I fully endorse it there. When I joined Eve there was a balance to the risk you wanted to take in regards to the rewards one could make. That balance has been eroding away and it was noticeable with Escalation and now is clearly evident with Inferno.

I have no intention of becoming a PvP player, that's not the gaming experience I want to be a part of. I'm not rage quitting but it does get harder to play when a game that was a blast to play is no longer so. I mine (asteroids and planets), I PvE, I salvage, I do industrial work, I play the market. Perhaps the elements of the game I like are more cerebral, I guess. The game is challenging because there are so many ways to play it and each has its cool elements and strategies. Where is the strategy with hi-sec PvP? All that is happening is that players, who, as an earlier poster described it, are meat and potato players are being driven out of the game.

I know the update is only a couple of days old but the rumblings are out there. An old saying I like is, ‘where there is smoke, there is fire’. The meat and potato players are losing the fun of playing and when these players go what is left? I suspect that the next six months will show us. I just wonder if I am willing to wait that long and see. Perhaps there will be a less vocal reaction than last year’s snafu and the silent majority will talk with their wallets instead of their guns.

This is, of course, just my two cents.

Fly safe.

New War system changes the game dynamic from what was allways slanted toward the griefers, gankers, and extortionist to hard over in favor of them. Where before there was some balance, now it just makes the small mining/Production corps targets for extortion and thus basically drives them out of the game.

As I'm dropping out of the game soon as a direct result of the accumulation of bad changes over the last year...specifically 'Captains Cabin", "The fuel Cube debackle', and 'War-Dec upgreade', I had the opportunity to tear down 3 towers, I got much experiance with the new inventory system.....FAIL!!! So add that to the list. I was running from an Orca to Towers with multiple hangers and could not tell half the time which corp hanger was the correct 1.

I have never taken the time to post on the forums before, and I hope that CCP does actually listen to their "customers".

This new "Unified Inventory" is probably the worst mistake I have ever seen since I started playing the game. I have seen a lot of improvements to the game over the years, but this was definately a huge step in the wrong direction and from the outcry of the players is it obvious pretty much everyone else feels the same way.

RETURN TO THE OLD INVENTORY SYSTEM, OR LET PLAYERS "OPT" OUT OF IT.

I have pretty much stopped playing the game until this gets fixed. CCP listen to your customers.

confirmed. he talks about this probably every day!

Talks about? Moans and bitches more like it... Twisted

Instead of funny social chatter between you guys, wouldn't it be better if you actually answer some of the questions the players have and fix this crappy expansion?

While you are at it, pls answer this ONE QUESTION:

Why did CCP "stayed the course" with this crappy inventory feature after all the negative feedback from Sisi?

+1

Having read various threads, where players have complained, this is par for the course. It is really annoying and unprofessional to ignore your customers issues.

we can only give answers and feedback on the features we worked on for this release and we have been doing so in both this thread and the issues thread.

We're all on team Super Friends, responsible for new modules, War Dec system, War Reports, and Kill Reports

Then at least acknowledge the concerns of your player base. Do a standard customer service paragraph of, your concerns with x will be shown to the proper team, so people don't rage because they feel ignored.

SO.... I log into the game today to see if any fixes have improve my game play experience, and nope -

Chat channels still borked and dont truly show who's present in them. - Standing Icons next to characters do not correctly represent whether they are friendly/hostile - NOT GOOD ( and i dont just mean local)

A corp member asked me yesterday to make a few ships for him, i did that - so I try and pass the ships to him - the old way I would have clicked the corp hangar, clicked member hangars (which in the good ol' days were alphabetized, and locate his name on the list). Drag and drop the ships, all is good. What this translates to now is a 10 second maneuvre that now takes 10 mins. And now I've practiced this at least 12 times, my times aren't improving....

Multiply the above by at least 200 people that I correspond with in the game and feel that they will not endure this format and I get to the point where I, Out of 12 accounts, have Unsubbed 6, and I am sure more will follow. This isn't rage quitting (been playing since 2005), This is in protest for removing fun and adding stress to a hobby which is now a chore - For the simple reason that the enjoyment i get from helping others has actually been nerfed, and I now have absolutely no reason to log into EVE at all. Except to see if the UI has been reverted to a practical simple UI, not some convoluted librarian system where if you dont have every item memorized you're screwed.

P.S. Its funny how when you reply to this thread you post doesn't get added on the first try.

I'm surrounded by Trolls. All this negative feedback means we'll just be getting new forums released before DUST goes F2P....

I don't like the fact that I can not see current ship as icon. I want the old ship's cargo hold window back, yes I can shift-click and get a separate window and make it smaller but that window still has more meat on it than the old version. In general I don't like the UI, at first I was so pissed off that I had to log off for a couple hours to seriously consider whether or not I wanted to continue playing. Of course I got over it and am currently trying to make the best of the new experience, I just wanted to give my feedback and point out that there more who feel the same that are afraid to criticize for fear of some type of punishment. Also, when I close the in-game browser my client freezes for a couple seconds now, I don't know if it's the patch or I just need to re-install.
