Good change.

As i said, this new Inventory Feature is nice for beginners like you, but for older players that PVP and/or are involved in industry, manufacturing and other aspects of the game it's totally annoying and unfunctional.

Theres nothing wrong with it, in doesn't do anything to hurt PVP at all, stop making things up and learn to use it.

Because managing a rokh and a nyx need 999+ IQ.

Since most people already pointed out problems about the UI, I throw in my 2 cents;

  1. When opening an multiple count of containers and stackin them, I identify them by the number I have given the container, but at this moment every number is preset with "ITEM HANGER > NR" where NR is the number I have given the container, now I have to use way more stacks to open 21 containers simultaneously as before, please get rid of this prefix, or make it optional!

  2. Clayton Dozer wrote:
for those of you who b*tch about the inventory using alot of extra pixels you have option to re=size the window to what it was before the change.

Really, check this > Image of Stacks of Containers , you really cant make out the difference, check the space I have to use currently for the same result as with the old small option; Image II

  3. When opening 23 inventories (of which 22 are containers) separately in jita, the FPS is all over the place.

  4. Set filters are not saved on staion level, so undocking / docking does disable set filters, is that by design?

  5. Why does the focus of the inventory change after opening a container with SHIFT CLICK? It didn't do that previously.

  6. After undocking, the complete 23 inventory setup is gone, I have to reset the position of all containers again... REALLY?...

  7. It would be great to have the fill bar be shown in the tree on each container.

  8. Closing a large stack of stacked inventory windows (containers) almost crashes the client.

  9. The inside sorting of a container is not saved within the new inventory UI.

  10. Why would anyone want to view the content of a container while docked at a staion?

  11. Containers do not rember their default lock / unlock status.

  12. When moving stuff within the inventory tree between containers, the focus ends in the new container, please maintain the focus on the active container, thx.

  13. The non-active' ship cargohold is still wrongly calculated

  14. Compliments on the UI;

  15. While loading the stuff in jita, I know the system is still loading stuff, even when it takes forever ;)

  16. Filter options are great :).

Please give us back the old system of items inventory. I used multiple windows with drag and drop items between this windows. Now it is not possible. When I open window for some container, the systems do not remember it and doing it next time, I have to use again new inventory manager. Why are (when on POS) in the inventory manager every structure (including POS lanchers etc.)? When I need to give some items from my ship cargo into Corporate hangar, I have to make "research" where is the destination container every time I do it.

Why after every jump through gate or through wormhole the inventory window opens.

New inventory manager is totaly fail !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please CCP to return back the old system.

The other things in inferno are nice :-).

I'm having issues with the new inventory, I get blackscreens that last for 30s to 3min when I try to open corp hangars or move ships/items from a corp hangar to my hangar (only in stations). Fitting and changing ships in station now takes significantly longer then yesterday and makes fitting even a single ship a chore. I play on a low end machine but the performance I'm getting in station is worse then what I get in large fleet fights.

+1

items and ships loading delay in my station and my hangar around 12-30 seconds after patch.
And Im not understand why I need to wait till all items load if I need only change ship and dont want to see loadind window with items?!

Separate SHIPS from ITEMS and doesn't load them all in same time if we need ONLY SHIPS !

CCP should probably take a look at the war history of Lonetrek Salvage and Scrap and see if they think the war system is currently working as intended.

[quote=Kamuria]Since you made some major changes to the datacores, it would only be fair to give the chance to those who invested time in those skills to refund their skills. When you decide to train datacore skills + grinding the standings, you base that decision on the parameters set by CCP. Those parameters are changed, so you should give us a chance to change our mind based on the new conditions.

THIS!

Welcome to the sandbox, nothing is guaranteed. Should CCP have refunded everyone's tech 1 frigate skills when they redid all their attributes with the patch?

Obviously you don't know how the datacore business works !

Most people will get research project management to lvl 4, which gives you access to 5 research agents. Those agents have many requirements and 5 agents means training 90% of the research skills to at least lvl 4 ! Plus grinding status for research agents is really not fun. To sum this all, it's over 1 month of training minimum, not counting prereq like mechanical or egnineering to lvl 5...

So getting in that aspect of the game is a bigger decision than training for tech 1 frigates. Also frigates are prereq for bigger, cooler stuff, so you have to train them anyway. Analogy FAIL.

All in all, with the LOADS of new features ccp are implementing in this patch, some issues will slip through the cracks... it's not even patch day + 1 yet and you're all calling for mass unsubs? you guys have insane expectations

I'm not a happy bunny :( The new inventory system is terrible, it could be workable if we could customise it to work like the old system. Shift-Click needs to be the default option atleast. Even with the tree-view collapsed, the top and bottom areas take too much space, we need a way to have a very small window for things like mining or looting in space as before. Hierarchical trees are very good for such things as collision detection, but totally almost useless for Eve UI, its just too much effort and clumsy to scroll up and down it trying to find what you are after. I'd like it better if it were folder based like windows explorer where you don't even need to use the tree. Some back and forward buttons would help quite a bit. Its so easy to click on the wrong thing or forget to press shift and end up having to scroll all the way up the tree view to get back to where you were before.

Windows are so perfect, they worked really well and i have no intention to try to put up with this stupid one window idea. I really think that Shift-click was just added as a stop gap measure while making it so annoying that we'd end up converting to how CCP think we should use it.

I've only just been back for a couple of months, before that i took a long break after the last time CCP messed things up (was something about monocles, no more ship spinning and walking around a box). I really thought things had changed. The last few patches have been good, new missiles are really cool. But at the end of the day, Eve is a game but its so awkward to play now... its like torture. I feel like I'm not in control but rather at the mercy of the unified inventory system. I didn't try it on the test server, but did read forum posts... i had hoped that you would listen to the many complaints before you added made it live... things don't change.... but maybe if enough people quit we'll get a patch in a few months.

I just have to say this is the worst change imo u guys have ever made to eve and i have been playing for over 8 years. Shouldnt a change make it easier to use not harder? Also if u live in a pos like i do all your mods are on index list too. I thought thats what pos manage was for? Dont see any way to take them off thru filters. Wtih lost of pos mods and arrays it makes it to damn confusing. Why cant i just click to open and get my hangar with its tabs of divisions. So much easier to manage that way. With mutltiple arrays and multiple divisions holding diff things for diff reasons i need my old system back. Either fix this for the better or give us the option to use the old system still.

First, I like the new inventory, the price estimations in particular are great.

My main issue with it so far is that boarded ships disappear from the hangar. Now I can see all the ships I have in the station in a *single* location, *except* the one ship that I'm actually using. It feels counter-intuitive.

Violent reactions like yours to a simple post are usually indicative of a low IQ, when your brain can't cope with the information its being handed; anger is often its first response.

The window is easy to manage if you can tend to remember the order that the list naturally falls in through the tree and whats in each window.

To aid those of you like Jessica, they've even allowed you to shift click a window, to make it easy to pop it off and see whats in it.

Try reading, I've heard that excessive reading helps the mind grow by allowing more internal visualizations, this in turn leads to a slowly increasing IQ.

Eventually you'll get the new window, and if a bunch of you quit over a UI window that most sane people seem to have a fairly decent grasp of, well, you would have quit over something else soon anyway so we'll see you around.

If this is true and I wouldnt put it past CCP then they are really scraping the barrel and will lose players. Give the option to switch to the old inv system asap otherwise every night I dont play goes by pushes me into playing 1 of 10 other games I have installed :(.

Ok the new inventory sux. Salvaging is now a nightmare. sorting your things and moving them from location to location is a full time job. And mining is now very un-enjoyable.

please give us the option to roll back to the old system for those that want it.. and keep the option of the new inventory for those that like it.

Not liking the new seed options for the new mods either. Really you only npc seed one of the new mods blueprints. If you truly want the game items to be all player produced then give us the tools to do it by seeding the other bpo's.

got to give good with the bad.

Love the new missile effects good job.

Didn't you hear? There are a few "inventory management" skills lined up. It's a new career too.

Make sure to get "Static Windows" and "Multiple Tabs" skills up to III first.

This has probably been mentioned, but is there a way to make it so that the inventory window auto-opens when you dock, if it was open when you undocked?

Don't like the new unified inventory. I feel like being forced to use a single button mouse when I'm perfectly fine with my multi-button mouse. It's "unified", looks cool & simple but compared to the old system, it requires more clicking and more attention upon almost every aspect of my inventory arranging.

Pre-Inferno, opening my active ship cargo, ship hangar and item hangar was a simple "alt + C, N, G". 3 windows would nicely show up exactly where I closed them. I didn't even have to do that since if I had just left them open when I undock, they will automatically show up upon re-dock. Now, you need much more clicking to achieve the same effect,

And while you can open separate windows by shift/right clicking, those windows don't seem to remember the preferred sorting mode. I like my ship hangar sorted by name, item hangar sorted by type, but since the UI has decided not to remember my preference, I either have to set it manually each time I open them, or just live with a messy hangar.

And as someone has mentioned above, the salvaging & looting workflow has become a major PITA. The opening up of each containers via double clicking the overview are so slow. And I can't spam "loot all" button anymore. It responds slowly, displaying a "loading" spiral animation upon each click. I also noticed a significant HDD access sound from my PC every time I loot. What are you doing to my poor PC? And the focus, it just goes back to ship cargo each time I hit the "loot all" button, so I have to manually select the next cargo again. "loot all", wait for stuff to load and refresh, select next cargo, "loot all", wait for stuff to load, select next cargo ... Seriously, wtf?. Compared to the old system, this is just unbearable.

I think each of the new function themselves are pretty cool. You should have just added those new functions to each window (which of course has a per window remembered show/hide option) and leave the basic window behaviors untouched. Nothing could have gone bad that way IMO. The previous window behavior might have been rather old and primitive, but it was intuitive, and actually to my surprise, highly customizable.

There are certain things they've said they're working on fixes for, this is one of them, window retention, the corp member hangar list, what you're reading here is basically 5 posters bitching up a storm that they've had to adapt to something new.

Yet not a one of them opened their mouth when we were force fed Dominion sov rules and changes, nobody complained when Titan changes or supercarrier changes went through, nobody stood up for the nano ships when they got nuked from orbit.

This change like all others, people will learn to live with, or wont, and the game will ramble on.
