Shift click the things you want in their own window. What's so bloody hard about that?

please correct me if I'm wrong, but you have to ALWAYS start wit the main tree window and shift-click from there to open cargo, drones, etc. This represents a lot of extra clicking and time to do what used to be a single click on the cargo icon.

I'm still waiting for grand insights in how to use this new UI efficiently. So far, it is proving to be very inefficient.

Then why does my cargo close every time I do this? This does not help during a fight !!

I had the opposite problem earlier: the inventory window kept reopening every time I docked, undocked, used a system gate or pretty much sneezed. Ugh

And where was this explained in the 'new intuitive UI'? Oh wait, it's not intuitive at all!

I might just have missed it before, but was there always the orange color-scheme on the T2 railguns?

Edit: I distinctly remember my Maulus having blue railguns before the patch

The UI is horrible sh!t.
I want two or many more seperate windows (WHITHOUT any shift or something crap) to move items from the hangar into my ship. It was possible to stack all windows into one before this UI crap. But no one did this. Now you force all people to live with this crap. Please roll back the UI or make it optional. It is not user friendly.

Especially the Inventory I want into SEVERAL independent windows to be able to drag and drop things around. I hate the idea to use the shift key every time to open a own window.

Please people, before complaining read the patch notes (shift+click opens multiple windows as you said and thats fine for the 1st day after patch)

Dont make the new UI completely bad, because it is not!
BUT it needs to be improved - and that is what your posts need to be about... Dont complain, but make helpfull suggestions e.g.:
"I would like to have a function to toggle the opening of separate windows without a shift-click"

Thx, best regards Luna

Since you made some major changes to the datacores, it would only be fair to give the chance to those who invested time in those skills to refund their skills. When you decide to train datacore skills + grinding the standings, you base that decision on the parameters set by CCP. Those parameters are changed, so you should give us a chance to change our mind based on the new conditions.

THIS!

Welcome to the sandbox, nothing is guaranteed. Should CCP have refunded everyone's tech 1 frigate skills when they redid all their attributes with the patch?

On another note, the ability to rename corp hangers and SMAs is desperately needed. The new inventory window shows them all as the same name. Support for naming the pos mods appears to exist(right click > Set Name) appears but it just gives an "Unable to name this kind of pos mods" error.

So spending a HUGE amount of time training A LOT of skills and farming standings with MANY NPC corps so you can get datacores should not be compensated by reimbursing skill points if you no longer have use for those skillpoints in that area of activity cos CCP decided to change it? When I started training skills for said activity, it was meant by CCP to be that way, it was not a questionable activity or game mechanic.

Quick rundown on new stuff:

Good stuff
- Missile launchers, minus odd graphics glitch
- Stealth bombers (Nemesis is best, but it really should be more green)

Bad Stuff
Unfortunately, these things will be horrendously overshadowed by the new and improved inventory UI. I'm honestly not sure who it's meant to benefit.
- People who use poses have to try to figure out which hangar is which and hope the things they're moving go in the right tab. There is very little reason to pre-load all the tabs, it takes far too long
- Miners with orcas have to fiddle and reset their windows every time the orca warps off to unload
- Mission runners have to use the index to loot anything, unless they feel like holding shift down indefinitely, looting wrecks when salvaging is a major headache

- Active ship shouldn't be disappearing from hangar
- Cargohold flips between open and close each time there is a session change
- Takes WAY too long to load
- All Can settings have been reset WTF?

Skin tone issue:
- I have an asian character. I hope that there is still adequate non-black/white skintones since you've made the skin changes. From what I've heard, you ignored most ethnicities.

I have limited screen space on my manufacturing character. However, I had a working system set up. Now, the windows are far too large and have disrupted my ui setup on my characters because I need to use the tree sometimes unless I feel like breaking my shift key. It's a lot faster to have multiple windows open so I can just drag things from one window to the next, having to look for the place I'm trying to put it is outright annoying and cumbersome.

Just tried out the new inventory system after reading some of the feedback in thread I was prepared for the worst, particularly as I have spent years working with the old system and got kinda used to it

I am a manufacturer and inventor so I have tons of cans with blueprints/materials salvage with probably 2000+ items (not a lot but had a major clear out recently ) but I immediately found sorting through it all and finding what I need far easier than with the old system and used a lot less screen space to do it.

Also found it completely intuitive. Great work CCP how did I survive without this.

The value calculator even if not completely accurate gives me a clear indication of what the contents of any one can is worth which kinda useful.

Haven't tried the pos or capital/orca hangers yet but as far as the station hanger goes the new inventory is the mutts nuts. Big smile

Everything looks great so far.

Inventory is great, don't listen to whiny ingrates.

Keep up the good work.

So now that I saw this 'merge ships and items into station services' thing, here are the only two things you have to do since you already have the checkbox...

1) make it possible to drag items and ships out of station services
2) when clicking a container/cargo hold/drone bay (in and out of space), make the old windows pop up instead of the unified one

???

Ok the new inventory sux. Salvaging is now a nightmare. sorting your things and moving them from location to location is a full time job. And mining is now very un-enjoyable.

please give us the option to roll back to the old system for those that want it.. and keep the option of the new inventory for those that like it.

____________

Not liking the new seed options for the new mods either. Really you only npc seed one of the new mods blueprints. If you truly want the game items to be all player produced then give us the tools to do it by seeding the other bpo's.

Sorry CCP, the new inventory thing is horrible, why cant it be optional?

Also i love all the new modules and ****, but where are they? Have they been seeded? Again, why make it so difficult for us?

Because although you like to think that we play the game, actually CCP likes to play the game with us to see how we respond. Rats in a maze...

I too am an inventor/small manufacturer and i find the new inventory system to be codswallop.
Windows dont remember if they are open or closed, the index window opens with every jump through a gate, moving stuff around a list of corp hangars while at a pos is a complete pain, system is slow to load things etc etc etc.

Can we please have the option of going back to the old system? It was so much more utilitarian when you were used to it.

High sec pos holders, you may want to check your charter amounts in the pos fuel bays after the patch.

Nothing. The problem is that it doesn't actually solve anything. It's a pointless hack to provide the illusion of a half-solution to a problem that shouldn't have existed to begin with.

I'm kind of pissed at the change to datacores. Not so much for the skill investment in the datacore skills, as my toons that collect them are inventors and need those skills anyway. But i'm more pissed about the time it took me to grind standings with toons that until that point had no combat skills and none planned for them. I've wasted a ton of precious time on standings I don't need, plus now have a bunch of useless pve combat skills on those toons that will never be used again. That training time could have gone into more relevant industrial skills instead.

And now, anyone in FW can start cashing in on the datacore train without any skill investment or faction standings grinding required while the people that worked hard to be able to get them in the first place are being penalized. I think that's rather unfair. At least make it so that FW people need the proper skills in order to get datacores. That would at least level the playing field somewhat and make it less of a kick in the nuts to industrialist.

People were constantly telling me I was crazy. For a long time I didn't believe them, but after a while, I started to think they might be right.

But it turns out that they were all wrong. One of the voices in my head is a psychiatrist and he says I'm perfectly sane.

The wallet doesn't update correctly. Sometimes when you directly sell stuff it goes up and instantly down again.
Only after you sold another item (or did something else affecting your wallet) it's showing the correct number again.
Minor bug, but slightly annoying and can confuse the hell out of you. (It just happened to me, thought EVE ate 500 mil because the wallet didn't show the correct number)
