LP for defensive plexes?

I know its early days but thought I'd get the ball rolling on this. I'd like to see at least some LP rewarded for defensive plexing, even if it is at a reduced rate (-5k or so LP)

I'm generally pleased with the changes to FW and its generally been a good patch from CCP.

However not rewarding defensive plexes seems to be a bit of an issue, already there are plenty of people who are simply against running them saying they'd rather plex offensively and get LP, even when defensive is more important.

So defensive plexing will fall, unrewarded to the same few people who actually care about the warzone, who no longer get to do any offensive work because no one else can be bothered to cap defensive ones as there are no LP rewards. All the while others just reap the rewards.

I also like the idea of an LP tax whereby mission LP is taxed into upgrade pool. As a function of the LP needed to fill systems, say if all your systems at average Lvl 4 a 10% tax is taken and pooled to upgrade but reduced to 5% at level 5 etc..

This patch was intended to turn FW more into a combat zone and less of a way to use alts to get easy LP, but you have had the main alliances working over the last few months to capture systems, their pilots upgrading those systems and defending them.

Only in contested systems though, don't want people farming LP too far behind the front lines.

Sorry should have specified, yes only in contested systems.

I think they could award lp if both sides could at least dock and reship in the system.

But when your enemy can't put up a fight in the system, other than with the ships they rode in on, it makes sense you don't get lp.

If you got lp you could always keep a cloaky alt in a deep system where no amarr could dock or want to go and just have them run a minor. You could decontest the system by running a major.

Bottom line: with station lockouts, this is the only reason why systems might trade hands.

This would be relatively inefficient and I don't really know why anyone would bother. It would take ages and give less LP/hr than missions and require 2 characters.

Your question comes down to why would anyone run a plex for lp when you get more for missions.

The alt would get lp for the enemy lp store.

Also defensive plexing in your own back water:

A) requires a much lower time commitment than running missions.
B) is much safer than running missions.
