Active RP Generation

Puzzles.

No, seriously, instead of trying to revive a dead FW by increasing rewards rather than actually fixing the problem, RP generation should be active. RPs should come from active participation, but not from combat-related activities necessarily.

And one way to make RP accumulation active is to make people do puzzles in order to generate RPs.

The puzzles can be any kind - verbal, sudoku-style, visual, whatever.

And what about skills? They modify how many RPs and how many RP agents one has access to with the current system. With a puzzle-based system, they can modify how many RPs are gained through each puzzle, and how many puzzles can be completed per day.

The total amount of RP generated by a puzzle system should equal the current system's output of RPs. The only difference is that the RPs need to be actively generated, not passively.

I think this is a somewhat decent solution to the problem - training for research agent skills and standings are still worth doing, and carebear industrialists who aren't into ship-to-ship PvP can do something interesting to generate RP for a few minutes a day.

EDIT: Furthermore, it could be possible to make research agents obsolete with this system. A new system in which all a person needs is the research skills and lab facilities to generate RPs which can then be converted to datacores of any type in any sec space, as long as research facilities are available.

I must be lacking information, all I'm getting out of this thread is the idea to improve faction warefare through role playing and puzzles. Straight

I must be failing on making myself clear.

I mean that instead of making FW "worth it" by adding RPs to the FW LP stores, RP generation should be non-combat related and done through puzzles instead of either FW LPs or purely passive accumulation.

they could simply have removed the passive generation of points and doubled what you get from doing the missions if they actually cared about the passive generation of points. instead, they stated that they're making the change to drive income to low sec at the cost of high sec.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

FW is not the only part of lowsec.

This isn't about nerfing hisec income in favor of lowsec - this is about attempting to bolster a failing game mechanic with increased rewards, trying to entice people into pursuing it even though the gameplay in FW itself is rather... lacking.

If this change was really about increasing rewards for lowsec, then exploration sites would be getting a boost to their datacore content - which they are not.

I still don't fly with the puzzles. soduku.. ? No thanks. I never got them in real life and wasn't interested enough to bother trying to find out how they were done. Just a 9 block square you fill in with numbers to me. I don't see how that has anything to do with research.

Neither does shooting ships of course.

Now if they came up with some super clever blueprint oriented puzzles where you have to identify flaws or correct mathematical inaccuracies or something.. hmm.. actually, that seems more like something that would allow you to just insta research a BPO to ME3; nvm.

..except, maybe it would be cool if they did some 'real' stuff for all that. Example being you had to be able to identify mathematical formulae, solve equations, work out logarithms, identify chemical structures, compounds, etc... you know, actual science and math oriented problem solving that might actually encourage some of us to use those skills instead of having them left to go to rot.

It might be fun.

I thought about this, actually, but then realized that this would sort of create an EVE 'elite' comprised of people who are math- and science-oriented. Not everyone in EVE who wants to pursue research is into that stuff. It would be more realistic, and would certainly be interesting, but the barriers created are too high, I think.

And everyone can do puzzles, really. It may take some longer than others, but everyone can do them.

All I'm asking for is for CCP to give me a 72h delay to refound all sp from skills related with a small plus for standings work.

They wasted my time, some compensation it always pleases customers.
