I used to play wow like alot of eve players and we watched them change the game so it would apeal to the masses.


So look at what eve is doing reminds of just that ....hey lets dumb it down so it apeals to the masses .....look at the datacore changes? ...how many things have they removed.

If it smells like **** and looks like **** must be ****.

Passive datacore farming sounds like a WoW concept if anything to me.

How is making it harder to get datacores dumbing EVE down? Moving cores from PvE to PvP is more like WoW? Get lost whiner

yeah yeah eve is dying again, eve is finaly be dumbed down, even thought I thought that happened back in 2005 with the great speed nano nerf.

Convenience is death to the relevance of player skill.

Most of Chribba's toys didn't change much to gameplay. A forum search when it took years for CCP to make one, a centralized upload service and a server-status tracker hardly make the game itself much easier.

Tools like EFT, EVEMon and sites like eve-kill.net or eve-central.org however...

Removing easy passive incomes is dumbing down? Interesting perspective there, do you also think water is dry and fire is cold?

I look at this less like an achievement system and more like a resume for applying to big boy corporations.

In my opinion we can officially declare EvE dumbed down when Mission Finder tools or pvp matchmaking tools become reality (1v1/5v5/50v50/500v500 etc). While I do notice new modules that are sort of jack of all trades, until CCP starts removing mod slots from ships you still have a large puzzle to piece together to find the best strategic fit for any given situation.

Been saying that since Hilmar came back from the dark side, 20% of the Rebal forum reps got fired, and every incarnation of titan nerfs...the DD to sub caps is understandable, logoffski is a must...but 20% of their hitpoints and drones (should be minimum 500m3 for a titan) + nerfing their oversized XL guns just because the other dudes can't be bother to bring capital ship busting DPS against a titan (The titan bringing DPS against subcaps was the entire point of the ship, its a fleet buster from AoE DD to single target, to nerf DD, to XL guns until the ship is now one limp ****)

Its not like the dudes had a chance to destroy those titans before they were built, but suddenly its unfair as they are now facing hordes of XL guns that can track their subcap fleets by sacrificing tank for tracking mods plus fleet trackle backing them up? Isn't it the fault of the pilot blowing up, not the fault of guy pulling the trigger...just as much as the fault of a hulk pilot fitting cargo expander instead of tank (for an example). Oh, and get this...XL gun tracking = blob issue fixed as fewer pilots are needed by one side...but thank god for CCP making those new target breaking mods that are not the current ECM. Yet players had already solved the issue? Funny that, an issue of over whelming numbers being fixed with titan blobs vs subcap blobs but...its not fair Roll and we get a new mod to fix the issue.

I'd rather see Tranquility stay at a population of 20,000 to 50,000 players and have them mostly smart than see Tranquility at 100,000 to 500,000 players and have them mostly stupid.

EVE really isn't that hard anyway. It's difficult to get started sure, but once you figure out what ships you want to fly and how to make ISK the game isn't that difficult.
