Just wondering if its possible to 2 man a class5 anom and if so, what ships would be required for it? Pretty sure I read that a thanny can solo the sites with a lot of difficulty but it was a couple of years ago so my memory is hazy.

If you were going to two man it, id say carrier and a Loki. Even then, not something i'd recommend.

you kindof need to specify if you mean 2 people with multiple pilots or 2 pilots.

if its just 2 pilots then i would say 2x snipe dreads

2 carriers would do as well. would take ages though with the pathetic dmg that comes from drones and youll loose a lot of them. just dont warp them together at once

You can not 2 man C5 sites with efficiency.

I'd recommend at least 5, as 2-4 ships are typically neuted dry, and somebody has to rep.

4 passive tanked RR tengu with max skills can do most anoms in a c5. 3 i'm thinking isn't wise, but with the right faction mods, perhaps?

Doable but 5 RR t2 fit tengus can tank a c5 with a breeze.

Its not the tank thats the problem, its the neuts mainly. 4 RR tengus would be able to tank it but all it takes is 1 sleeper bs to feel like a ***** and neut out the non primary.

Whilest not strictly 2 man (you'd need a gang boosting alt) and not cheap theres probably some crazy pimp energy chaining marauder setup that can do it with just 2 marauders with decent dps/range, neut resistance and tanking.

1 chimera and 2 tengus will do any site. The Chimera will need to be in triage for the first 2 BS.
On the chimera have a probe scanner to make sure a new you see any new signature.

Properly fit non-triage chimera (tho I'd advise fitting triage as it gives you an edge if jumped) can deal with a 6x guardian escalation fine - worst come to worst the tengus might have to throw you the odd rep but properly fit you should be tank ~3K out of the ~3.75k dps incoming and have plenty of buffer to last til enough guardians have died assuming they go for you and not one of the tengus.

I'd reccomend using a hybrid (not hybrid weapons) PVP/PVE RR tengu fit then if a small gang jumps you, you have a chance to atleast take some of them with you or even win if they underestimated you.

EDIT: Fit something like this should work and not too costly.

Ideally you'd want to farm out probing to a support ship and likewise moving the sebo to a remote sensor boosting ship* so you can reuse the mid for more cap should you need to triage but it should manage C5 escalations fine out of triage aslong as your not epically slow killing the BS - the chimera can use fighters or drop sentries to speed up the killing process this way.

* In non-triage you might need the sebo to lock smaller ships like rapier/huginn, etc. quickly if they are primaried too quickly on landing in the site.

When my previous corp was in a C5, we tried to 2 and 3 man the sigs in a C5, and met with no success. Even with 5 or 6 accounts (everyone dualboxing) there was C2 problems, and often a target shift would go to an account no one was watching at the moment resulting in a pod. I'd definately reccommend that you have 3+ players (not account, but actual people) around when you do them, esp if you want to do the escalations

Running a C5 with two people will probably take you about 3 hours to finish the anom. At that point you may as well do Level 4s.

Also, during those 3 hours a wh will have opened up in your C5, a scout will call for backup and your p1mpfit ships will die.

Someone from a corp living in a C5 recently told me that minimum fleet for c5 c-sites was 3 ships - Dread, RORQUAL, Huginn

Rorqual fit up like a huge Basilisk, to be warped in first ready for the dread and Huginn arriving.

I have to say I'm slightly sceptical... was he having me on or did I get the wrong end of the stick due to the language barrier or do Rorquals actually get used in this way? Who reps the Rorqual?

If I'm not mistaken, Sleepers don't recognize the Rorqual as a capital, thus they don't count towards escalations. However, they CAN fit capital sized RR, which is immensely useful especially considering you're not increasing incoming DPS by bringing it in.
