Greetings.

Our small trading corp as been wardecced (that was bound to happen sooner or later).
Most of our members are rather new so availability of ships is rather limited.

Basically everyone can just crawl into either hurricane or drake, but hardly fit it good. Our attacker is... not so many, actually only one. But he uses a loki or dramiel (so far).

His plan so far has been to gank the new players missioning. We'd like to make a good sport though and fight back.
What would be our best (and cheapest) tactic?

Swarm him with cheap frigates? Go out on a limb and (ill-fit) some cruisers or bc? Or is the ship just basically impervious to any noob attempt to drag it down.

He unfortunately caught me alone in my pvp myrm, I held out quite long, but alone really stood no chance to break his shield.
But 8 suicide frigates for 10 mil sounds more tempting than 8 suicide bc at 300 mil.

My first point of advice is...STOP MISSIONING, STOP MINING, STOP HAULING, STOP EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT WAR!

These war decs will persist as long as he can find random stuff to gank...which he apparently can. Be organized. Never travel alone. Make your whole point in eve the destruction of this one guy (add him to your watch list so you know when he is online)

If you can't properly fit BCs then you probably cant properly fit cruisers....

If you are fighting a Loki...here is my suggestion for a 10 man Frig fleet.

Griffin X3 (All Minnie jammers if youa re 100% sure he is in a loki)
Rifter/Punisher/Tristan/Merlin/Kestrel/Incursus 7X fir points fit webs, fit TDs.

I'll be honest if he is messing with you in a loki chances are you wont kill him with frigs...but you can jam him all to hell and make fighting you impossible. Just jam him and run away. Fly nothing but Griffins fit with minnie jammers and do nothing but jam his Dram/Loki and warp away.

Another option is to quit your corp and join an NPC corp. No more WDs.

I swear I'm going to start an anti grief-er service. This type of "Sandbox" game-play is annoying to me.

bait him in a belt with ur fleet logoff. scrams and webs on some bc's and Cruisers. use locator agents to keep an eye on where he is. just log off/dock everytime hes online or make a 2nd corp that you guys can jump to till the war is over.

The Loki is easily the squishiest of the T3s, it gets no active tanking or buffer HP bonuses whatsoever. If he makes a mistake or gets even slightly unlucky against as few as 3 well-fit Ruptures, he's going to die.

Thank you for the advice so far.

We're not going to switch corps. Our main income is not affected by the griefer, though I am not sure he is fully aware of that.

On the other hand we'd like to take this as practise.

I think we'll try out the frigate thing.

Concerning the Rupture, lets say that it had no t2 items only metalevel 3 items, would it still be valid?
Maybe if supported by 2-3 griffins?

Yes.

As long as they stayed at reasonable range and weren't popped by his drones, yes.

I guess Adaptive Augmenter and Adaptive Shielding don't exist then.

Start flying cheap. Have your corp flying together as a team, be organized in fleets, plan ahead and adjust to the situation.

If the guy is camping your station with a battleship how can you beat him? This is why learning to scout and baiting is just as important to know to fight. Make sure you remind your guys to spam the warp button when they are dying. Losing a Rifter or Griffin is fine but a pod isn't. Even if you can't beat him, by keeping the pressure on him and denying him the easy kills he thought he'd get he should leave your corp alone very soon. Once you guys are well organized and turn the game around, you can start camping him and delight yourself with his tears in local.

Watch some pvp videos if you can and read some guides. Every little detail about combat and game mechanics is very important, even if you feel you are knowledgeable about the game you can bet there's stuff out there you need to know about.

Use this opportunity to get some PVP experience and possibly some kills under your belt. Next time someone wardecs you next time you'll be better prepared.

Make sure you have the few systems you call home riddled with good Bookmarks and use D-scan.

  • 1 x Aligned (gate to celestial). Make a BM enroute.
  • Multiple non-aligned safe spots. Used Aligned BM and warp to another celestial. Make a BM inflight. Repeat using first non-aligned bookmark.
  • Make a few tactical BM's around gates. 200+ km away from gate (make via safe BM's). Warp to 100km of gate. make temp BM. Warp to safe. Warp back to temp BM by 100km. You sould be over 200km from gate. BM that spot. You can scout out bubbles, etc.
  • Learn how to use directional D-scan. It is your friend. Set to 30km or so (~ 10km for each acceleration gate) while running dead-space missions. If he is in system, you will have some warning before he jumps in you in dead-space.
  • Make an insta undock warp. When you undock, MWD out to about 250km and make a BM. continue for 1000km + and make another. Same idea for when you return to station: scout it scout it out in advance.
  • Make a few instant DOCK BM's at bottom, top and where you undock. (people tend to camp the undock). If you rely upon docking after warp, you can bump out of range of docking.
  • Make friends with others in local and set up an intel channel.

Call me crazy, but I do not recommend sharing safe BM's etc unless you 100% trust your corp mates. Blink Unless he takes time to scan you down at a safe, you should be OK. I recommend staying aligned to another safe and 'moving' while at a safe.

Team up to run and salvage missions. Two eyes are better than one. Pick your fights.

Have fun. War's make Eve exciting.

Resist bonus. It's nice, but not as nice as having crazy ass Prot or Legion buffer. So you can die to a few T1 cruisers, nbd.

A well fit Loki will tank 1500+ DPS with a set of crystals.

If this guys is targeting newbies in H sec.. you can bet he is flying a shinny fit with good implants, because well... H sec. I recommend using a small frig fleet to determine how he fits his Loki (combined with some research on EVE Kill and Battle Clinic.) If it turns out he is fitting a shinny active tank, use a nueting Dominix or other nuet ship to break him. I am a big fan of the mixed thorax/arbitrator fleet if you want to go cheap T1 cruisers. Fit the Thoraxes for buffer and good DPS with EW drones; the arbitrators RR with tracking disruptors and damage drones.

Getting him to engage a well organized fleet is going to be hard though.. I recommend finishing 90% of a mission and parking one of the toons he has ganked running a mission before in the site. Have them in your nuet dominix or something comparable, and then log off your fleet from the mission. When mr greifer gets into system with you. start shooting rats again and generally looking like a mission runner. If he tries to gank the "mission runner" point him and log the rest of your fleet in.

Like every situation in EVE, success only come to those who put in the effort. You need to understand the game mechanics and out think your opponent in order to use them against him. On the plus side, you have numbers, which is WAY more important than SPs. Make sure to watch out for neutral RR, or a spike in his corp count though. He is going to be using every dirty trick in the book, so try to stay five steps ahead of him.

I can only echo the advice others have given here but what I will say is good on you and your corp for deciding to take the fight to this guy - a lot of carebears curl up into the fetal position and cry for their mothers when war decc'd so kudos for manning up and fighting back.

I see someone responded to use a shield ruppy to counter this threat... Good, but not good enough to catch a minmatar. To catch a minne ship, at minimum you need a scram and a web and that cancels out the shield ruppy. What you can use though is the armor ruppy. A ship that cost around 5-10 mil total.

Rigs
2x Trimark armor pump
1x Anti-Explosive pump

High
4x 220mm Autos
2x small NOS/NEUT

Med
MWD
Scram
Web

Low
Damage control
1x 1600mm Plate
2x Energized Adaptive nano membrane
1x Gyrostab

Get 3 to 5 of these and his loki will die. (I think, tactics and luck still have to put you right on top of him.)

Pretend to rat or mission in one rupture, when he comes and he attacks/ you tackle him, jump in your friends or have them log on (smarter).

you just pushed the win button
