Industrial Base in C2 or C1?

Hey all! I am looking to set up a fair number of POS'es in w-space to run reactions/PI/invention (when it gets moved out of highsec). I am looking for your advice on whether or not to move into a c1 or c2

c1 offers the protection against battleship sieges , but disallows orca's and freighters.

Once i hit critical mass, e.g. 5 poses worth of reactants and fuel, and 20+ planets of pi materials, plus enough mats to keep 20 t1 and t2 assembly lines running 23/7, a freighter is almost necessary..... amirite?

thanks for your advice!

Unless you have a good corp to defend, I would stick to a C1. You won't get a freighter through a C2 either. And that many POS for what you are doing screams potential loot pinata, and someone will eventually be bored enough to go after it.

Just my 2 cents.

You aren't fully immune to battleships in C1's. There are a number of ways around that.

However, LOL Rollers won't be hitting you with battleships and that is an edge. But you seem to want to construct an enticing Loot Pinata.

You should be thinking about what kind of statics you want to.

Heres what you do:

Take a C1 (put good defenses on each tower, and LOTS of ECM), move stuff in and out with industrials. Have a freighter/orca on the highsec side. Dump stuff out and give to the freighter/orca pilot, who then stays in highsec and slowboats around.

You can put 25 itty's through the standard highsec C1 static.

Since no one else told you yet, you can't bring freighters into a C2 either.

Edit: And also, just do what Arazel said

Mainly the reaction on someone's face when they see 5 towers full of moongoo and assembly arrays, and a freighter sitting on the exit wondering why it can't get out.

At least i checked with you all before doing something absolutely inane.

why would you build carriers and rorquals in a C1? and how did you manage to still lose it?

I should buy an Ishtar.

next question then: why would anyone invest the time and effort to get 50 T3s into a C1? is it because of the PI?

I'm thinking it's because of the killing in the C1, not the planets.

I think its more like 40 itys per WH. I know I sometimes collapse my WH and get around 1.500.000 m3 cargo in or out.

A) To blow up your POS for the loot.
B) You pissed someone off (possibly just the name of your corp, POS, char)
C) To get killmails.
D) Ransom
E) Boredom
F) Tears
G) To claim and sell the system (rarely happens for

To be honest I think something should be done about these c1's filled with industrial guys that use their systems purely to produce stuff in.

You guys provide no content whatsoever to anyone but your own wallets.

Then we should remove the Market and all forms of trading. I believe you won't ever again fly a ship in EVE Online.

But I see your point and it is true that C1 players avoid conflict as much as any Highsec player does. But it would be a bit drastic to make a new mechanic to only remove the safety from C1 industrialists. If it is a problem then players them self should intervene.

There are only 348 C1 wormholes. I mean how hard could it be to concur them all.
