Okay.

I so so hate to be one of those bittervets who just picks holes in everything CCP does.

Those CQs look good, they really do.

Except.

Did anybody else notice that the Gallente and Minmatar CQs have identical floorplans, right down to the step-down den with couch in the corner?

*facepalm*

It looks great though.

Well, might I bring it to your attention that we Minmatar and Gallente have a good relationship overall. It was the Gallente's love of liberty at all costs that was, in part, what inspired the Mnmatar Rebellion.

Perhaps today's station designs are a testament to this very thing. Two groups of people who borrow and share ideals may thusly borrow and share decor.

On science fiction shows conforming to or averting this trope tends to tie directly into the show's placement on the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism. At the idealistic end there won't seem to be a toilet on the space ship at all, but as you move toward the cynical end the chances increase of a bathroom, then a toilet and finally a scene in which someone uses them. Chances of the facilities being poorly lit, poorly maintained or just plain dirty also increase as you get closer to all out Grim Dark. May also occasionally be used to demonstrate to the audience the intended placement of the work on the Mohs Scale Of Sci Fi Hardness. If the creators go through the trouble to demonstrate, say, the placement and function of a bathroom on a spaceship, then it serves as a means of showing that they have given good thought to the travails of space travel.

I think EVE is on the GRIM DARK Scale, and we need toilets.

For real. Or at least something that resembles a washing facility? Pod PIlots really stink, and miraculously are able to scrape their pod goo off of their bodies Instantly upon docking.

awesome ...... nah.

Gallente captain's quarter reminds me of a data center. Not the control room. The computer room. Kind of room you need sunglasses and ear plugs to survive in. Specially on Mondays.

I'm staying in my pod!

Other developers of MMOs are able to put out entire continents full of dungeon, mansions, etc in an expansion. CCP? 1 small room... Oh wait, they now have 4 small rooms...

Don't break that arm patting yourself on the back CCP. Shocked

Adding entirely new, from scratch, graphics/content/anti-lag measures/etc take a bit more time than adding a few exsisting textures/graphics with different names and colors than the old ones.

CCP likes telling thier subscribers about things they are working on as they are working on it, or even before they start, and generally take player input into consideration (dont kid yourself, they listen often.)

Some people think CCP should only listen to them, just because a couple of others agree with them (100 others agreeing with you is still jsut a small ammount of subscribers). You, the oens who agree, and the ones who oppose are all lsitened to and compromises are attempted, and it is my opinion alone that CCP do a pretty good job of this (they rolled out the next step in Incarna, while appeasing those who dotn want it by returning spinning ships)

If a company waits until jsut before they release soemthing before they tell their subscribers about it, it gives the illusion of a speedy rollout. BUT that method leaves NO room for player input.

P.S. I quote peopel to let you knwo what im responding to, not to try and aggrivate/argue/etc

I like the look of them, at least the Gallente quarters seems to have found the light switch. Anyone else notice that the active ship changes during the Gallente section of the video, did not recognise it at first is it a Mach? Never had one so the holo model looked different.

I patched my SISI client yesterday. It went fine. But after I tried to load it, it loads fine but I couldnt get past window where I have to accept EULA. I coudlnt scroll.

If they couldnt implement patch right on SISI, I wonder what would happen on tranqility.

TO: CCP

If same thing or something worse (like crashes and I'm sure some people would have those problems) happen on tranqility you'll loose more players then you already did. But I'm sure you know that. Only implementation without any major problems and bugs will retain carrent number of players and maybe bring back some of the players that already left. OK minor bugs. Those can be addressd as you go.

Dont worry, I'm not leaving. :)

Unles you ****** game so much that I cant play any more. I wouldn't want that to happen.

the new CC looks awesome... excepts its six months to late. this really should have all been put in at the same time.

also am i the only person wondering if all this time the art department could have been working on features we actually wanted in the game (say POS fixes?)

grips aside, its nice to see something in eve being iterated on and not just left hanging.

Yes because an artist is an experienced programmer with python knowledge, and C++ knowledge and knows the in game mechanics of how pos towers work.

ok so its just me who remember CCP saying the art department was a major bottleneck on a lot of fixes they wanted to do

Are the Captains Quarters decided upon your character's racial origins or on the Station Builders nation?

i.e. as a Sebiestor will I find myself in a Minmatar CQ every station or will I get a Caldari Quarters if I dock up in a Caldari faction station?

I truly hope it is the latter as to otherwise this represents a rather glaring slap in the face to the Prime Fiction of the game. After all no Amarr station owner would in his right mind construct station quarters to suit the tastes of the slaves they own nor would the Caldari / Gallente be designing their quarters to accommodate the desires of their racial enemies.

I...like it. >_>

Thought it's still largely academic. A strain on my CPU/video card with no unique interact-able content. I won't be turning on CQ any time before that legendary door opens.

Still, I like the work the art team put into it. My unused quarters will definitely "feel" Caldari. Cool

Is this intentional, a bug or some oversight? Not that Im immediately against it, but I would personally like some control over my body proportions.

I think it was a thorax cruiser.

On topic: New rooms look great. Saddly, I live in a minmatar station, but that might change soon.

need more lights, way more.

only the gallente CQ have enough lights.
and minmatar really need some...

also while on low shaders, only the gallente CQ have still enough to see, all the others are totally dark.

my favorties are the amarr one for the balcony, really nice, and the gallente for the interior, which really feel spacious and confortable.

caldari one is not bad, but it feel really small. seems also strange seing that it's the caldari one which have the more space for the TV... though it would be the bed, a desk, or something more simple which would be the center of caldari

on the other side, i think the gallente one is too much normalized, too perfect on the space allocated for each thing, it miss a little something... like for example the big spot for the TV for example like the caldari one, or a little bar near the TV ^^

also, there is no books on the amarr one, that's ridiculous, pax amarria at least must be here !
when you leave the ship for balacony you really feel the mystic thing, but when you enter the room, you only feel a bit of richness (the doors are very nice for example)

Looks great. Would've been nice to be able to have the same dark wall colors of the Caldari CQ for the Gallente though. The Green glow along with dark walls would've been awesome.
