Mining is not for everyone. So if you are strictly a pvper and have no interest in the mining side of EVE, then this is not for you, for you are the "upper class" (1%) of New Eden and CCP already gives you want you need.

CCP says they want to "buff mining" and makes changes so only mining can get most minerals. Which is a good thing. But we all know how it goes: something good always comes with something bad. We all loged in Escalation day, and it all looked good...then the ships corp hangers got hit by a ninja and mining operations across all of New Eden were devistatly effected by this.

Like we were told, a post was up on the forums. CCP Greyscale gave us a half answer:

That's not something that we're planning on supporting - if they're going to be corp hangars, they really should be corp-restricted, and trying to maintain all the code special-cases the old implementation needed was causing problems. That said, we're considering properly revisiting the functionality of these ships and changing it from a "corp hangar" to a "fleet hangar" that's more closely aligned with what the actual use-cases are.


Look what the side effect of changing that one thing was! We do get *some* clarity from GM Tiny:

After reviewing many of the petitions regarding this change, us Game Masters have been in contact with our developers due to the concerns raised by players, both through the petition system and on the forums. I wanted you guys to know that we are looking into reverting these changes and we will be sure to keep you guys posted.

And of course they don't notice the data because it's Hulkageddon and they're expecting it low. So I say starting June 1st: Drop your mining alts for a month, use the money on RL like trip to zoo, public transit, picnic at park, etc.

DO NOT MINE in the month OF JUNE. There are plenty of other faucets to use for a month to get by isk wise. Pilots from null to high, dust off the ore and spin those ships, gamble your isk away. Let the minerials from New Eden disappear and see how long it takes. The 1% will be fine, there are plenty of ships on the market in whole they can survive. You know that, we all know that. And when trit is so frackin high, and the belts are giant b/c no ones gobbled them in weeks. Maybe then CCP will realize ORE is not a dead npc corp and launches a brand new ship class capable of mining a little while protecting its fellow miners with damage output or extra emg boost of shields.

I believe I speak for every miner in EVE when I say this: CCP has forgotten miners and has forgotten you. They want you to quit the game so more people can be in the "1%" of pvpers. We will now allow the game we love to go down this path!

miners are mining because they don't have mommy and daddy footing their monthly eve bill, and they don't have all day after school to get together with their virgin pals online and pvp.

that said, I LIKE that pvp-ers hate me for being afk all the time....I got pod-killed yesterday because I was doing some dumb **** in low sec afk and some pvp nerd wasted an hour chasing me down and was so pissed that all he found was a random navitas with nothing in it, he pk'd me out of sheer tear-filled rage

I deserved it.

but, because I was out having a quickie and a beer for lunch and came back to find my guy in borynas (sp?), I still win.

Can we just get rid of the ******* mining profession already? Nobody respects it, obviously gun mining and loot tables out produced it, and the ships are just ****** to hell when it comes to fitting for a T2 ship yet no other T2 ship has such terrible fitting problems as the hulk (how many mods increase CPU of existing items when you fit them on, not because they already had high fitting opb...yeah I say lets go for it and just roll back a couple months but instead of dicking with loot tables CCP removes mining skills, modules, and ships.

CCP has not forgotten miners. CCP wants miners to be the beaten dogs of Eve. Miners are there to be ganked. Miners are to provide the sooper dooper big shot PVP players something easy to kill. Just as corp hangars are only there to provide an easy target for the amazing corp thieves who do so much to enhance the game experience. CCP is now checking with GOON to see whether the devs are allowed to make any more changes to the corp hangar situation. GOON will make the final decision after they have bravely destroyed several thousand hulks during Hulkageddon. Don't believe anything else you here. New players are only welcome as tools for the older players.

All the other miners are going to stop mining?
