Jump Clone Availability

Currently you can jump to other clone every 24h and thats really not cool for players in 0.0 space. For example - if you just jumped to expensive clone for ratting you are basicly banned for any pvp activity in next 24h because nobody want to loose really expensive clone.

I propose to change that time to 1 hour or half hour or even 15 min to make life easier for players ;) What do you think about that?

This idea is bounced around a lot, i think the best solution would be to give a short cooldown if you jump within the same station. We dont want people to jump around all over eve without cooldowns.

Jumping within the same station/system would be also good idea, maybe even better, but i think 1 hour delay is enough to prevent jumping around without cooldowns.

Introducing something like that means a nullsec alliance can set up shop on several different sides of eve and fight everywhere at the same time. Its a bad idea to make eve smaller then it already is.

no

JC delay is too short already, you shouldnt have an easy way to move or switch implant sets.

Not being able to pvp is good for your enemy invading your space, because you cant defend it - or would possibly loose expensive implants.

People forget one point, they are "Jump" clones. if there is a problem, it needs to be addressed more not to be a kick in the pants still for those of use that use them for travel. A flat timer reduction is really the only functional way a change could occur. I do agree that the timer is a bit than necessity for an essentially required tool nowadays in eve.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Simple really, setup cool down timers something like this:

1 hour within same system
2 hours with the same constelation
6 hours within the same region
24 hours in another region

I agree completely. As it stands the clone jump timer dissuades people from buying expensive implants, and makes them risk-averse when they do, leading to less PVP. But obviously there's the issue of instantaneous transportation, which makes this the best option.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Here is my idea:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1159493#post1159493

This proposal give the player the choice and will not unbalance the game.
Because if it is too easy to jump between stations, it will be impossible for a fleet to make a siege or to create a strategy because their ennemies will be able to come from everywhere at anytime.

I do not agree with both of you.
A too short delay make the game too easy. Players must hjave to think twice before jump clone. Eve online is a game of choice and patience.
But 24 hours delay denies any reflexion too. Because you know that you will not go back before 2 days.

Around 10 hours delay is fair enough.

my proposal: rather than the ability to jump once every 24h, replace this with the ability to jump twice, in a 48h window.

think about it.

Or just reduce it to 20 hours.

From reading the forums and chatting to people at events it seems like 4hours is about average for most folks who play a bit a day (and work) and they tend to play at roughly the same times per day (except weekends).

So considering that make the change appropriately and you have the flexibility to avoid creep but keep it ostensibly a day long.

So every idea has its problems but jump clones really needs change because its not good when i'm not able to play because of stupid game mechanics. When I'm playing game i want do something, not wait on station for next possibility to make jump clone. There is another solution.
Let's make implants possible to unplug without destroying it. It fix everything.
