Sense of Scale

Now that we have the old ship-spinning hangar view back, that lets us get a good look at our ships no matter what size they are, can we move the ships in the Captain's Quarters view back to their realistic positions? I know we're still some way off getting a true sense of scale relative to the player, but I think it's high time we at least made sure the ships were in scale relative to each other. The current system of placing them at a distance from the balcony relative to their size robs us of a sense of just how large these things are. Can we have ships placed in the same location they are in the normal spinny hangar view?

The problem with this was that there was no relational items to relate the size of the ship... if they do this as was hoped for in the past they would need to have something like shuttles going to and from the ship, or something like that so our eyes can tell the size of the ships

I'm more talking maintaining a sense of scale of ships relative to each other. Right now, a Tengu will take up roughly the same amount of screen space from the perspective of your balcony as a Nidhoggur does, despite the Nidhoggur being nearly eight times as long as the Tengu and about three or four times taller and wider.

I'd really like to see a test run that still showed small ships at a decent size, but made the larger ships simply vast.

Problems could probably be solved somewhat by shifting the actual position of the CQ in at least the Gallente and Amarr stations closer to where your ship normally appears on the landing pad.

i think it would be alot better if in CQ the ships were made static and "docked" like in the Original CQ vid from those many years ago as i belive that gave a much better sense of scale and would rectify the "shy ship syndrome" that seems to have taken over our ships currantly scurrying away when we get a bit close to them.

I think it is more of the ships location.

It always bugged me when CQ came out the the ship was floating above the platform and not on one of the pads.
With ship spinning returned it is really obvious now.

The ship should be on the pad.
Yes that will make them smaller but now comes part 2.

The point of view when you are in CQ looking over the bay is off.
The first thing I did when jumping from CQ to the ship was to see if I could find where I was looking from while in CQ.
Not going to happen with the Amarr for example as I am where the exit is while in CQ.

Amarr station
IF possible the Point of view should be moved along the left wall.
The pad center up on the left side that would work for the ship location.
Little things like this needs to be fixed otherwise it starts looking pieced together if that makes any sense.

That or like the OP says make a different background for CQ like it was in the video.
I realize the for now you just reused old content but this needs to be looked at.

The actual location of the Gallente CQ when you look at the accompanying hangar is... in the middle of a massive void of empty space. It would make much more sense to have it in that upside-down cross shaped thingy above the gantry attaching the pad to the central column.
