Logging in while in space change

The time has come to address this.

I am looking for a net zero change.

Since we all have timers on the way off the game for whatever reason we need not worry about that in this conversation.

Basic idea
When we log in at this time you come from some 100k random point on a warpin.
new idea
I propose instead you just appear where you logged off and have a 10sec sit moment to recalibrate. You would not be able to touch your mods or anything. This would allow your client to show you your surroundings. You would be lockable in those 10 sec though.

So if you log off without aggression you should just instantly disappear?

Why? It sounds like you're just upset because someone logged off to escape a gate camp or something. Putting someone in space for 10s completely helpless but completely lockable is completely unreasonable.

The idea is based on the fact that you should not get 30 secs to turn all your mods on before you land.

Why shouldn't you? It really is sounding like you're just annoyed at someone escaping a gate camp by logging off, which is no more dirty a tactic than sitting on a gate waiting for unsuspecting victims to come through.

lore wise you are always connected to your ship, and logging off is rather unexplained, however, because pods and pilots are supposed to be consistently linked, having the time to activate mods while landing, makes sense in the fiction of eve.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Sounds like you hit a logoff trap.

When you login in space you should be where you left.

Now, add to that the fact that the game client cannot tell if you lost connection, or deliberately logged out.
(Anyone can drop internet if losing connection gives an advantage)

You want people who had unexpected connection issues to be summarily dropped in your lap for a nice ganking?

Gate camps will get all sorts of easter eggs out of that mess, considering the higher rates of connectivity issues that happen around them.

You still haven't provided any proof or support for your position, I see nothing but your opinion about how you want it to be; nothing about what would be good for the game itself.

So if some carebear is running a mission and gets disconnected, they should be forced to watch their ship be demolished by the mission rats for 10 seconds before they can even attempt to activate their tank?

Didn't think that one through, did you?

so you log in space because you are too tired to fly out of the belt. Stuff comes up you log in 3 days later.. to find you are where you were but now you are wardecced with enemies locking you - and you aren't able to turn on modules.....

Sorry this change is not needed.
