"How not to look like the self-important, entitled douchebag that you really are"

Step 1: Look over the gift selection with an appraising eye. Remember, someone put some effort into this for no reason other than to reward you for showing up on a regular basis. It's costing you nothing.

Step 2: Make your choice based upon whatever criteria suits your fancy. Keep in mind that you're not going to find the equivalent of new car or yacht or priceless artwork. You're not that special, nor did you do much to deserve this gift. And considering you're an Eve player, you've probably made it onto someone's "Naughty list" somewhere. Take what you can get.

Step 3: Be polite to your host and say thank you. You may not need another new tie or that cheesy t-shirt that you'll never wear, but did it cost you anything? No. It may be cliche, but it really is the thought that counts.

Step 4: If you're still feeling jilted because you didn't get what you wanted, feel free to whine to your other douchebag friends and see if they'll sympathize with your pathetic woes. If they comfort you, you're in the right peer group. Who else could empathize with your situation than a fellow entitlement-seeking freeloader?

Step 5: If you're *still* not satisfied, you have failed to mask your self-important, entitled douchebag attitude. By all means, feel free to make yet-another sad thread in the forums exposing yourself for the poor excuse for a human being that you really are. We all really do need to know just how sad your life is that you didn't get a Nyx for the 9th anniversary of Eve and how disappointed you are. Really, we're that interested. Post away.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

To be honest I have no idea what he's on about.

What gifts is he talking about? I play a game I pay for each months, I don't expect free gifts what the post about? Are we getting free gifts?

Thank You... so what exactly the ops Problem? Are there actually people complaining about getting free items to choose from?

In all of that I would probly choose the Pax Ammaria

Yes, sadly, there are quite a few threads here in GD where people are complaining about free stuffs.

I thought a nice sarcastic public service informational post was in order. :)

Also, if you have enough accounts, you don't have to choose as you get all the gifts \o/

Only two things fuel the entire world anymore.

Greed and Ego

But, but, if we *don't* whine provide constructive criticism and feedback to tell them how underwhelming their gift choices are, they'll continue to do provide gifts in the future that don't excite the player-base, thus defeating the purpose of the free gift in the first place. Or it could just mean that CCP is too busy doing real work (i.e. tiericide, pretty missile patch) to spend ("waste") time on another unique ship for the masses that won't get much use because it can't be useful enough to require a BPO and balancing, etc..

Also, the Pax Ammaria is going to rock, methinks.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Yes, I'm going for the Pax Ammaria for at least 2 of 3 Accounts. The 3rd --- random.

Although seemingly a re-run of the X-mas 2011 gifts, I bet the 10th anniversary gift next year will be........I'll use FULL OF AWESOME !! Big smile

It really seems rather sad that people even have the thought at all to ***** at a gift they don't have to pay for. IT'S FREE FFS. People should be glad that CCP is even giving anything at all. They could've just said that Inferno was the gift, but they are still giving out free stuff. I'd be giggling my ass off to hear someone actually complain that CCP didn't hand them a Nyx. Memory of a particular skit George Carlin did about what he called "sub-humans" comes to mind. BTW, Pax Ammaria ftw.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I think part of the problem is that some feel these gifts don't match up to what was offered at christmas, like the free 30 days game time and such. Some people are never happy.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

It has indeed been awhile since we were graciously given the Primae and the Echelon.

Only other rare ship to enter since (contests aside) has been the $20 US Quafe Itty for Fanfest.

The collectors MIGHT be the whiners, I don't know for sure.

After much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that the real present from CCP, is the tears of all the people crying about the presents in the devblog.

Thanks CCP, you're the best ♥

Free stuff? I'll have some of that TYVM. I can foresee a cruiser themed Ganknight roam coming up in the near future, hell if there is I'll be joining in.

We need to lose, in entertaining ways, all the free cruisers so that I can keep making ISK on the buggers in the market Pirate

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
