The best part of this game was its player base.

I began this game after learning of Dust 514. After a couple weeks I grew extremely frustrated with elements of the game but this was quickly alleviated by the community. However, I feel this sandbox is far to restricting, overwhelming, and disadvantageous to new players.

I hope eve doesn't change this and make it easier and easier like other mmo's. That is not my intention of this post.

I simply feel I missed the boat and should have started this game many years ago in order to fully appreciate it now. I realize I could buy plex to advance into deeper aspects of this game, such as pvp but like many others I do not have that disposable income and I am not fond of pay to win.

I wish the dedicated EvE community all the best with your sandbox. The players of this game are some of the most intelligent and helpful I have come across in any game. I will be there for the start of Dust 514 and i will be there for the start of WoD (whenever that happens).

Play EVE ... don't play EVE ... do whatever makes you happy. That being said, it doesn't sound like you got to the point where you "get" EVE.

Also, can I have your stuff?

Need to check out some more community. The one thing that most vets will tell you about eve is to enjoy eve it doesn't take having started earlier. Newbs can join with the vets without too much trouble.

You very well may be right about the "get" part. I sure am in no place to argue that.

Dude, it's not hard at all to make 500m after you've been in the game for a couple of months. No reason to quit cause you can't afford PLEX.

You still can. There is so much to do; it is your enjoyment not the ISK that matters. You don't need a lot to get into things. Why not ask for ideas / suggestions instead?

Dude, it's not hard at all to make 500m after you've been in the game for a couple of months. No reason to quit cause you can't afford PLEX.



Sure, 500M for a plex, then what, now 70M for a Tornado, and another 20M in modules, and oh, I dunno, 100M a month for skillbooks at the beginning. And then replacing that Tornado with a 50M Hurricane, plus 20M in fittings. Then replacing that Hurricane with a Rupture. Then replacing that Rupture with a Thrasher.

Sure, really easy to make that kind of coin every month, especially after the decimation of Incursions and meta 0 loot drops.
Well, he could easily get into a Retriever and mine 5M / hour...oh wait, sorry, forgot about Hulkageddon.
Well, he could look into datacore farming as a supplement..oh wait, that is being removed in 4 weeks.
Well, he could look into trading...oh wait, sorry, forgot about Jita being shut down.

I could say "Hey CCP! Hey dummies!. This is the future of your game, as more players like this drop away."
But that would be whining right?

I must concur, making isk in this game is not as easy as some people make it out to be. and it does seem to be getting more difficult every new expansion. Sure, there's nullsec ratting too.....that is if you can get into decent nullsec.....

Sorry but I gotta say I see this guy's point, making isk as a new player is hard with few sp and little to start with. Starting out in this game is rough.....period. It takes a LOT of patience and a certain type of personality to play this game. You either are in to it and are patient enough to stick it out or you're not....it is what it is. Let the guy move on in peace if he wants because he'll probably be doing some work for us planetside once dust launches....

Either way to each their own. Best of luck.

Just remember that these same people will be around when Dust kicks-off, so all the FPSers are gonna get one HELL of a shock the 1st time they get scammed, lied to, and ganked...

And my .2 isk the DUST game will probably be "fair" only for the 1st 12 hours, then people will start to show up that are, "optomized" since they said active training was a thing. That mean that the 1st 12 hours will be spent on a private planet getting killed in creative and highly unlikely ways.

kill 10 people with one grenade - check
headshot 7 people with one bullet - check
stab 100 people to death with rusty q-tip - check
Fall from orbit and crush someone x10 - check


So don't think of it as "stat padding" think of it as active skill optimization, and if you don't do it... well have fun with THAT game.
