I am having problems with it aswell

Keeps giving me corrupted file errors after i tried the initial install of the Patch released yesterday

I would really like to return to playing our beloved internet space spaceships

Please fix the launcher (remove it completely) and all problems with said Launcher will be negated

The infamous "learning cliff" of EVE seems to have gone from "How do I play this game I'm in?" to "How do I get in to the game to play?"

I was having issues completing the patch the day it was released. I ran the repair tool about 20 times give or take but go figure, the moment I open up the "submit petition" page I figured I'd give the repair tool one more try and low and behold it actually worked. I don't know if this will help at all but it seemed like every time the repair tool ran the download remaining got smaller and smaller until it was running through all the steps very quickly until timing out. The last time when it "worked" it ripped through everything pretty quick and said I was good to go. Been connecting and playing since with no noticed problems as of yet. This was through a windows 7 machine though, no real suggestions or ideas as far as Macs go.

There is a typo in all of those URL's.

In the link, replace "364755" with "365434." Where the x's are in http ://cdn1.eveonline.com/xxxxxx/ is where that change should be made.

Example: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/365434/EVE_Online_364755-365434_win.zip

So I at least got that downloaded. I'll see if this method works right now.

Update: CCP, your method of patching didn't work. Nonetheless, I found a way.

To get it to patch properly, download the patch you need, then fire up the EVE launcher. Click on that little wrench and screwdriver symbol in the top right to open the configuration menu for the launcher. Click on "Patches" and then the "Import" button. Navigate to where you extracted the .patch file you need and select it.

If you chose the right patch file, it should patch successfully.

Update: Alternative patching method has arrived.

The alternative patching method has finally completed and passed testing, it is as follows.

Instructions, Windows:
1. Download and open the zip file
2. Copy the .patch file into the EVE Online client folder, usually that would be C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE
3. Run the launcher and it'll do the rest for you automatically.

Here are the Windows patch files.

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/364755/EVE_Online_364755-365434_win.zip

Instructions, Mac:

On mac it gets a bit more complicated
1. Download
2. Open it by double clicking on it after it's been downloaded to extract it.
3. Command-click your EVE Online client and select “Show Package Content”
4. In the new window that popped up, browse into “Contents” and then “Resources”
5. Copy the .patch file into this folder
6. Run the launcher.

Here are the Mac patch files.

As a MAC client I feel like we are always second seat. Even when I submit a petition they always refer me to a Windows solution even after posting in the petition that I have a MAC client. It is very frustrating. All month I've played just a hand full of times, my research que has been empty for days now and I'm being charged for time I'm not able to play. As much as I enjoy the game I am a very dissatisfied customer right now!

Being on linux, I wish we had a seat, considering there are more wine players than mac players.

At least last time I heard some numbers, there actually really more mac players than wine players, and by large. Less than a 1% of the playerbase was using linux WHILE linux was supported. Though feel free to correct me with current numbers.

Remove insurance.

I fixed the links, sorry about that, we were trying to get those out as quickly as possible so the copy pasting process failed on us this time :)

For me it didn't. When I run the launcher I get the same "No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher." message that I usually get, and starting the Eve client from there still gives the "Incompatible protocol message."

Any tips?

Why can't you just provide the .exe files like you did yesterday?

launch -> patch -> fail

launch -> fail -> retry -> fail -> repair -> fail -> abort

download patch manually

launch -> no launcher -> fail -> abort

repair -> fail

download repair tool manually

repair -> fail

launch -> no launcher -> fail -> abort

thanks for the ride CCP, but uninstall -> download -> reinstall every time you roll out a new patch isn't the game i signed up to play.

If the only way for me to play is "uninstall - download - reinstall" every time you push out a new patch (which you seem to do once a week at leat) I'm going to let my account lapse when renewal-time comes around.

It would have been great to have been at your 10 year anniversary, which coincide with my 5 years of first subscription payment ... but alas.

Seems like this topic isn't for Windows 7 / 64 bit users, huh.
How could we patch the game using the launcher while our launcher is corrupted!?

Somehow, my exeFile.exe in \bin is corrupted too.
How could I fix that? Sad
