Has there been discussion on adding options to the camera? I know the upcoming PIP camera sort of establishes this but the simple addition of the ability to lock your camera position on a object AND/OR your camera focus on a separate object could be pretty cool

You can already effectively lock your camera, just stop moving the camera and it'll stop moving. And you can already focus on another object, that's what the "Look at" button is for (either the eye icon in the overview and it's in the right click menu).

let me explain again

say you have a drone orbiting a rat. look at drone, lock visual focus on camera on rat so you can see both on screen as they move.

or camera position lock, camera target lock
