How CONCORD should work.

had a thought while cooking up some other nonsense, and I thought It deserved it's own thread. Probably wrong, but who cares?

Ok, here's how I think CONCORDEKKENED should work.
You shoot some poor miner, Concord shows up. BUT... they're not invincible.
They don't have a death-ray.They're pvp-fit craft. Still concord hulls, just... sane. T2 equipment. no hidden prizes.
They just come in droves, and murder anyone helping you (that was the core of the problem anyway)
First wave drops in, a logi (to rep the attacked, one per every attacker), battleship, HIC, 2 interceptors, some frigs for flavor, and 2 T2 EWAR cruisers, all fit like a player would. prepare to get hurt.
if you shoot back, more spawn. you might get one or two, you might even get away, but you're not going to dock with that ship. every ship you shoot spawns another wave.
if you get helped, more spawn for both you and the helper.
if you smartbomb, more show up with long-range tackle, neut you into the dirt, and beat on you from afar.
if you warp off, anything attacking you follows. until you die. Interceptors will be waiting where you land.
if you manage to survive this for a minute, which is unlikely, more spawn for you every 20 seconds.
if you somehow (by some miracle) survive five minutes, a concord dreadnaught cynos in and beats your brains in, with
Stations and gates will deny you passage until you die. which you will die, but at least it's not some cheap death. It's a regular OJ Simpson police chase!
taclkers are heavy interdectors, interceptors, and anything cruiser and up (with webs). ceptors would have single point tackle, dictors 9-point scripted WTF tackle.

With this system, you still die. It just goes down like robbing a bank would, instead of like god sticking his thumb on your head and going *squish*,

I'd rather have a magical death ray that went *BLAP*Pirate

I've never been attacked in HS before.

That sounds like an awfully convoluted way to get pretty much the same result as we get now.

Also... if you make CONCORD tankable in any way I can guarantee that players will find some way to exploit it. MOO did it back in the day when CONCORD was tankable. They effectively locked down a high-sec chokepoint gate for HOURS until a GM teleported them into null-sec.

Yup CCPs first major anti Sandbox move. Why shouldn't players be able to effectively lock down a system like that? That's not an exploit, it's playing a Sandbox MMORPG.

Because once the gears stop turning everyone else goes home and CCP doesn't get any money?

Deathray sounds good to me.

Thing is... while I agree with your sentiments... SOME restrictions are needed to allow for more fluid gameplay (especially in places where there are less "experienced" and/or less "organized" people). Capitals not being allowed to be cynoed (or used in combat) in high-sec is another example of "arbitrary restrictions" to allow for "better" gameplay due to them being massive force multipliers.

What we have now is more or less balanced. You can engage anyone you like in high-sec for any reason... however the penalties are that you lose your ship (which, unless you are doing it purely for giggles, forces you to consider whether your target is actually worthwhile) and take a security hit (which does cause problems for those of us who don't have alts and/or friends).
