Solo and Casual Players

A polite question to CCP.

What are you doing for the Solo/Casual player, of which there are a few. Since I started playing Eve (2003) the opportunities have got smaller and smaller by design. Its great that you have bought so much in for corps and alliances, but solo/casual players are getting less and less unless missions and mining in high sec and the like are your thing and even the rewards for those are getting smaller.

Please no replies (although I'm probably asking for it now) about how I'm playing the game wrong or how I should join a corp, I don't want to, been there done that and quite happy in my corp with like minded friends.

As a casual player who is solo a large part of the time, I'm not suffering at all. There's tons for me to do. Try checking out what to do in Eve.

I did.

I'm really not sure what you're looking for here. It comes across as a "whahh, I want more attention" thread, especially since you don't say anything about what you would like to see. This isn't a CCP Q&A forum, it's not a place to ask questions of them, it's a place to propose ideas and have other players either agree with them or point out the holes in them.

Well, if that's your viewpoint, then I see no issue trying to answer you. I wasn't trolling, just trying to get you to clarify what you're looking for. If you're not actually looking for anything and just want to whine, then there's no point trying to talk about it.

If you're unfamiliar with all of the Careers, you can also pursue planetary interaction, manufacturing, research, trading, space exploration, blockade running & the like.

If you're just wanting to get into more dangerous areas by yourself I'd recommend getting a force recon, stealth bomber, or a transport ship & the covops cloak. A lot of the other options give your consciousness a free ride home, particularly if you hit an alliance gatecamp pocket in 0.0 space.

I and others would like to know what plans they have for Solo/Casual players who don't have the time to invest in Corps and Alliances, simples. As for posting in this forum this is where I was pointed to by CCP, If you don't like it speak to them.

If you come into a thread telling ppl that they are just after attention then your not really going to get a civil answer are you. If you had asked the question without the "whahh, I want more attention" then you might have had a different answer.

Now If you could base yourself deep in 0.0 without being an alliance pet and get access to a base of operations then that would be awesome.

If anybody out there remembers the CFS and the (failed)(unfortunately) experiment of keeping 0.0 open to all then you know what I'm taking about.

You might actually see a shift of players out of high sec as well.

There is always NPC nullsec. Kind of offers what you're looking for, but maybe not as grand as full fledged null.

I think CCP's answer to your question was wormhole space.

wow . . . i guess there arent that many things to do solo . . .

but honestly, there are a limitless number of things to do in Eve whether solo or in a group, you just have to be creative enough to figure out what you want to do.

I don't quite understand what you are asking for. There are many viable solo careers out there in hi low or null, (npc null) but you haven't really describe what it is you do do , or what you want to do.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

I dont want PI, I joined Eve to fly in space not micro manage colonies as stated above as for Blueprint research what planet are you on ????

No and No

I have, please read my post or look back on the history of Eve to the CFS, one of the early Alliances (before alliance mechanics existed) that tried to keep 0.0 free for all pilots to access not just those in our alliance (unless they started to p/rat) . It was probably the most fun times (apart from those with Celestial Apocalypse) that I have had in the game.


As for "attempting to get them into the larger community activities" that's exactly what CCP have been doing for years that have now led to the current situation. Sometimes im afraid RL means you can't

By casual player, I mean the player with not allot of game time, gone are the day's that I could sit in a fleet for 3/4 hours in the hope a fight appeared or say for certain that I could take part in corp activities. By solo, those that like to interact with the Eve community, but want to do so on there own time without being beholden to anyone else and who want to fly in space there is less opportunity to do so.

Do you wan't to ask CCP what they can do for you because you can't be bothered to figure that out yourself, or do you ask CCP that because you are bored and feel entiteled to demand such propositions from them.

This game is a sandbox, meaning that you can essencially do whatever pleases you the most, and if that thing is trying to deny players access to 0.0 space then by all means, go and do just that. Don't go demanding stuff from CCP without actually giving it some thought other than: I am bored, entertain me CCP.

I begin to wonder if you are serious about this thread. Or just bored.

Might be a good idea to take a break til Escalation hits. Heard that smuggling and the smuggler profession might get some love.

Hmm, it seems like you want all the benefits of operating as a group, without the need to operate in a group.

You can do pretty much everything in Eve solo, so I'm guessing you just want it made easier for a solo pilot. Which is stupid, because it defeats the point of operating in a group.

From what I can gather you have dabbled in everything that is to offer for the casual/solo player and feel that nothing that is offered now compare to how it was before. Or is that wrong? You kind of fail to explain what the problem is.

You also have not given any hint to what you want CCP to do, other than they have to do something for the casual/solo player. Again I get the feeling you are bored since a vague question sutch as the one you gave gives you easier reasons to say that everyone are wrong.

If you are bored with the current game, witch happens, then it is no problem to take a small break. Let it lie for a couple of months and then get back to it, maybe even with renewed vigor.
